TPS40422: Current Sense signal sample rate

Hello Team,

My customer is using the TPS40422 and needs information on the following

"

Which is the sample rate used for measuring the “current signal” i.e. voltage drop signal across the inductor resistance used in the determining the current level? Assume that the RC filter is in place and the L/r = RC and the controller is measuring the output current using PMBus."

BUF12840: BUF12840 datasheet description

Dear Sir;

I read the BUF12840 datahseet, and then I have 2 question.

Q1) Page 4  PIN DESCRIPTION about EA1, EA0

      It says EEPROM select bit*. EA* should be tied to logic'0' if autoread is not used.

      I think TCON can read and write BUF12840 DAC register even if EA* is '1' Page8 Figure10.

     I would like to know why it say EA* should be '0'  if  command setting (no autoread )is used ?

Q2)P10 Table4 EEPROM Configuration

    In case of  EA0 = 0 and EA1=1, BANK0 start adrs is 361, it says 2k eeprom is acceptable.

   But 2k eeprom is 256x8, so adrs 361 is out of memory size.

   Why 2k EEPROM is okay?

UCC28910: Transformer for 13V output

Hello,

I'm looking at using MC33063A in the inverting configuration for a +12V to -12V circuit. V_CE(sat) in the Darlington configuration (table 7.6) is specified at V_CC = 5V.

Do we have any data on how this parameter would change with V_CC = 12V? If we don't have any data, do we expect the typical and max characteristics to change significantly (>10%) at V_CC = 12V?

Hi TI support members.

Please confirm the following questions.

[Question]
When full charged and continue charging, the battery will not recharge unless it reaches "Recharge Threshold".
Does the SOC of GG fall below 100% during that period?
We worry that SOC value will be changing from 100% to 99% or 98% after full charged and continue charging.
If it is, what is suggeston to avoid it?

LM5085: Dead MOSFET after 48V application

Hey E2E,

I am using the LM5085 in a 48V -> 12V @ 10A application. I am using a Webench design which has been slightly modified to fit my spec. (Webench schematic can be found here)

Vin: 48 - 55V

Vout: 12V (+-.2V)

Iout: 10A (roughly)

I was able to create a crude prototype on a breadboard using an SMT breakout PCB that was able to output 12V from 55V with no issues. I then put the design onto a PCB and manufactured it. After trying to test it with 48V however, I only saw 48V on the output (this was a no-load condition). After probing around the board the P MOSFET was discovered to be dead (Gate, Drain, and Source were all shorted to each other). I'm not sure what could have caused this. I replaced the MOSFET to see if that would fix the issue (could be just bad luck), but the issue persisted.

Some other notes: I tried applying 15V just to see if it was a fatal design flaw at all voltages but the board was able to output 2.4V (meaning at least something was getting converted). No load was shown to be drawn at this voltage (meaning it's not an internal short anywhere). It also appears to not have affected any other component on the board (diodes, inductor, LM5085, and anything else on the current loop seem to be fine). Finally, I did not put as much capacitance on the output/input side of the board as stated in the schematic. My thought was that more capacitors could be added on once I started doing load tests.

My guess is something is wrong with my choice of MOSFET, the SUD50P08-25L, but the specs on this indicate it should be fine for this application (-80V VDS max, +-20V VGS max). Below are my schematics as well as the board layout.

The connectors are cut off from the PCB views, but they aren't relevant to the problem (just XT60/XT30 connectors). The project is also available on CircuitMaker if an in depth view is needed.

BQ24192: Switching Current On Inductor

I am using BQ24192 for one of my application. In datasheet i am able to find Inductor saturation current rating but not able to find out inductor rated current requirement. So i want to know how much current will flow from inductor when battery is present and when battery is not present.

Please let me know how to calculate it.

Please tell us the mode transition condition. FCCMVLPM. In FCCM, /SKIP = H and PWM = L are set. If /SKIP input voltage is changed from H to 1.6V, will the mode change from FCCM to VLPM? (PWM remains fixed at L.) If /SKIP input voltage is returned from 1.6V to H, will the mode change from VLPM to FCCM? (PWM remains fixed at L.) Or does it need to control PWM?

"Increase CICOMP value" is worse for THD and is good for PF.

"Decrease CICOMP value" is worse for PF, and is good for THD.
