bq76920: Any problems increasing SRP/SRN filter component values?

Hello,

We hope to be using a bq76920-based protection board in an application that operates in a very severe electrical environment. The loads for the battery pack are mostly inductive and there are very, very high starting current levels involved.

We'd like to increase the values of the SRP/SRN filter components, as exists in the EVM, from 100ohm/0.1uF to 1K/1.0uF in order to better filter out some of the voltage transients that will be around. Are there any problems if we do this? We will not be using coulomb counting and our cells are already operating near their short circuit rating during a standard motor start so we're not worried about the OCD/SCD response time being extended by even up to several milliseconds.

The datasheet has a typical sense resistor filter resistance of 1K but the EVM uses a value of 100 ohms. Is this to speed up the response to an OCD/SCD condition?

If going to a 1K/1uF filter will adversely affect operation of the bq76920, are there any additional recommendations you might have for filtering/protecting the chip not already addressed by the EVM's selection of components and board layout?

JohnM
