I will be flying a BQ77908 battery pack on a high altitude balloon mission where a single event upset may latch up the device. Where is the best place to put a MOSFET switch in order to cycle the power to the BQ77908? I could place a MOSFET switch on the BAT pin of the device to cycle the chip power, but this would leave the battery still connected to the VC device pins. Alternatively, I could disconnect the BATT- terminal of the battery pack from ground. I have attached a picture showing these two locations.
What is the best approach to cycle the power to the BQ77908 in order to clear any very high altitude single event latch up effects?
Thanks,
Max
