Dear Sir, We selected bq27530 as fuel gauge and charger manager with bq24163 in our new product. Now we are testing prototype and we have problems with bq27530. Documentation itself is very poor for professional product usage. Reference manual is still only in draft with many mistakes inside so we like to ask you for help to finalize this design. At first we need to configure charger parameters, but any Charger Data Commands returns NACK on I2C when addressed for read. Other problem is than many values (for example battery voltage of internal temperature) returns 0x0000 values.
DEVICE_TYPE returns 0x0530 (should be 0x0531 according to TRM) but I suppose this is ok as TRM is copied from 27531 IC and thus contains mistakes.
