I am trying to evaluate the BQ34Z950. Using the BQ20Z95 EVM I have made the following changes to the board
To bench test, acquire a bq20z65 or bq20z95 EVM and make the following modification:
1) Short D2, the diode between pin16 and TP3.
2) Takes off D3 and Q1 that connect to FUSE pin
Then use TP3 as DQ pin that is now directly connected to pin 16.
The DQ communication cable consists of two wires.
One wire is ground, the other is DQ pin.
Connect the cable to EV2300 HDQ connector.
Open the EVSW, choose DQ Data screen, and click Refresh. The data on the DQ screen should get
updated.
The BQ34Z950 default firmware has been loaded.
I have having issues getting the part to enter sleep mode. Shutdown works but the part will not react to a sleep command. FYI... the TS line is being monitored to look for Sleep mode vs. normal mode.
