Using SLA battery with bq40z50 + bq24725A

Hi,

We have designed the follow Li-Ion battery solution:

-Charger: bq24725A + uController;

-Battery Gas Gauge: bq40z50.

It worked quite well, but now we have to change the battery from Li-Ion do sealed lead acid (12V / 20Ah).

I'd like to know if is it possible to use the bq40z50 with SLA batteries?

The charger "delivers" voltage and current requested by the battery. So, it should work, doesn't it?
