BQ21040: bq21040 with 3,7V Li-Ion battery

Hi all,

I would like to use the bq21040 device to charge a 3,7V Li-Ion battery. Is it possible since bq21040 is set for 4,2V Battery?

My concern is that the battery will never reched 4,2V so the chrager will keep to try to charge even if it is not possible.
