bq40z50 BatteryMode()

Bit 0 in the BatteryMode register is ICC, Internal Charge Controller. Is this used in conjunction with bit 14, CHARGER Mode?
What effect would it have if it's set, but CHARGER Mode is set (disabling broadcasts to charger)?

I noticed that it was set on the board I was testing, so I cleared it, and then I noticed that it has a (R) after it in the data sheet, but I was able to clear it? Same with the Condition Flag, so I assume the Tech Ref is wrong.
