BQ27542-G1: Generate a Golden Image Procedure

Part Number:BQ27542-G1

Dear TI Engineer,

I would like to configure my BQ27542-G1 fuel gauge in order to manage my Li-Polymer Battery,

I already submitted a post in this forum (https://e2e.ti.com/support/power-management/f/196/t/795981), and I understood that I must use the bqStudio, the EV2400 and the BQ27542EVM in order to generate a whole golden image and use it to flash all my on board customized BQ27542-G1 . I am using the latest bqStudio version : 1.3.86.

So, I got the necessary equipment and I am successfully able to communicate with the BQ27542-G1 over bqstudio

From what I understood for the first time, that I have only to change the settings in the Data Memory interface, but it didn't solve my issue.

So, I think that I have to follow what is indicated in the Appendix C (Impedance Track Gauge Configuration) of the reference manual (http://www.ti.com/lit/ug/sluub65a/sluub65a.pdf

1. did you confirm I am on the right path ?

In the first step, I have to determinate the ChemID, by using the list of battery chemistry ID in the bqStudio,

even if I make the update of list of available chemistry ID available under your website, I didn't find my battery model.

Note that I am using this battery: https://www.texim-europe.com/getfile.ashx?id=108376

2. Can you confirm that the chemistry ID of my battery is not available on your list ?

In this case, I think that I have to use the GPC Tool to obtain a properly matched chemistry ID (ChemID) for my cell (http://www.ti.com/tool/GPCCHEM)

And to obtain the ChemID I have to submit log files of a learning Cycle, that is already described as a next step of the Impedance Track Gauge Configuration (Appendix C ),

3. should I have to do the learning cycle twice ? One to generate a ChemID and another to generate a Golden Image?

4. which mode should I use?, the normal, Automated or GDK mode? when using the bqstudio

I starts to generate log files, but the result is not the same of what indicated in the video in this link http://www.ti.com/tool/GPCCHEM :

In the video, the output file is csv file is described as below:

My Log output file is .log file and described as below:

5. Is It correct ? or should I generate the same csv template file ? and how?

6. should I have to add my own configuration in the Data Memory interface before generating the golden Image ? like OT Chg, Design Voltage and Design Capacity....

7. Can I find an application note that describes step to generate Golden Image ?

Best Regards,

Ghada.
