Good morning,
I would like to design a flexible and compact primary protection circuit for a BMS. It seems the combination of the AFE ic BQ769x0 and its companion chip BQ78350 could be a suitable solution. In that case I only have to program the BQ78350 with a proper golden file during production operations, in order to set all protections and recovery features. Is that correct?
If I need also a secondary protection into the same circuit, I think it is not allowed to use the same primary protection AFE and companion chip, but I have to use a redundant solution with different components for blowing up an additional driven fuse. Correct?
Is the combination BQ769x0 + BQ78350 compliant to any standard for defining it as primary or secondary protection for a Li-ion battery pack?
Thank you very much
Matteo
