BQ34Z100 problems with I2C and VEN

Dear Sirs,

I have a BQ34Z110EVM and I have been using to evaluate the IC. It is working fine with the EV2300.

Since it is NRND, I bought some new BQ34Z100-G1 ICs to solder in my board. I designed it with I2C and connecting the voltage divider directly to BAT pin, not using VEN and leaving it floating. The tests were made with a battery connected, but no significant current was flowing.

I've connected the EV2300 into my board, but I cannot communicate with the BQ34Z100 IC, and the answer I got is always an ACKlowdge problem.

I've checked the waveforms on the oscilloscope and they seemed just fine, but the BQ34Z100 is not acknowledging the commands.

Then I checked the signals to see if the IC was ok. CE is tied to REGIN at 3.3V. REG25 is 2.5V. P6/TS is 0V and has a positive glitch every 250ms. VEN is always 0V.

The old BQ34Z110EVM, which is accepting I2c commands, has the same signals, except that P6/TS and VEN have a pulse every 20s.

What can be the problem?

Does the BQ34Z100 ships in some mode or state that is not working? Are there any conditions that make the IC to be disabled?
