I’m trying to train the BQ34Z110 on our 12V SLA battery; our capacity is over 25Ahr, and I can only source 1A or so from our board, so the cycles take a while. I believe the crux of our issue is that the optimization cycle will not run to completion. When we reach the end of the cycle, OCVTAKEN gets set, but the update status never moves past 4. Another (secondary?) symptom is that, during the charge cycle, the SOC reaches 100% for a little while, then drops to zero until the discharge cycle starts.
For my setup, I am enabling IT via the bqEval software, then switching control over to our firmware; this way I can log our device’s state, along with SOC, voltage, current, and now the status/flag registers of the bq. I can provide these logs if helpful.
Early on we had an issue that was causing pin CE to be toggled during the optimization cycle; I fixed the cause, and reprogrammed the Data Flash with the first read image, before continuing. Might this still be affecting optimization?
