We use the combo bq78350/bq76940.
Something bad enough happend so to set the DEVICE_XREADY bit in the BQ76940. It likely happened when the cell UV protection kicked and recovered while an active load in constant current mode was connected. That sometimes results in an SCD fault since the load lowers its impedance in hope of getting its current.
This time, though, no SCD. DEVICE_XREADY was set.
I would expect the BQ78350 to clear that fault and recover as there is an event counter and permanent fail protection that can be activated to manage that fault. At this point, all PF are disabled in our system.
I sent the shutdown command to the BMS and after rebooting the whole thing, everything works fine.
Documentation mentions DEVICE_XREADY "mabe set due to excessive system transients". What does that refer to, other that what was already mentioned in the other posts abour that bit?
Should the bq78350 have recovered?
If not, how can I handle that situation? We have a microcontroller attached to the bq78350. I just can't figure out what and where to write to clear the flag in the AFE.
Thanks for your support.
