Hi Thomas,
I have been reading and working in the background in an attempt to set up my first battery gauge using the BQ34z100-g1 evaluation module.
For experimental purposes I purchased a new battery that should be closely matched to Chem ID 0x0803.
I am using a 2 Amp (trickle) battery charger with a 6S 12V 18000mAh PbA battery.
The gauge now seems to be tracking the SOC fairly closely but can't seem to get past status 4.
I do get OCVTAKEN after fully charged as well as after discharging.
A few areas of concern to be noted are:
1) The charger abruptly shuts off it's current at just under 2000 mA which appears to be quite different than typical applications that I have seen here.
However, I think I have corrected my parameters but please feel free to check me on that!!
2) I am using Mode 3 because it was recommended in one of the spec tables ... would it be faster/easier to use a different mode to begin with?
Can you provide a brief explanation of the key parameters that affect the STATUS change and Cycle Count at end of charge and discharge?
I am supplying the SREC, gg, and log file for your evaluation, however I am interested in learning more, rather than only having a file updated at this time.
kind regards,
-Tim
