This question is slightly non-technical.
We are developing a BMS using TI's EVM Module to control around 150 individual Li-ion cells (~ 48V, 24 A pack) for our use.
As per the sample design provided by TI (below image), daisy chain of 25 (= 150/6) BQ79606 Battery monitoring IC EVMs is required.
BQ79696 EVM cost is $199. For 25 EVMs, cost is around $5,000, which seemed quite high, making it financially unfeasible for our use. We believe that whole cost of the BMS for given requirement would not be more than $100 (including mC).
The question here is that: We would like to purchase these modules in bulk quantity (1000s). Would cost be drastically different when we purchase large quantities from distributors (Kindly suggest few distributors in India). Also, is there any other modules apart from EVMs that we can get at a cheaper cost from the distributors.
