Part Number: TPS3701
Hello,
I need to protect the VDD input of a TPS3701 from voltage surges of 60 -0/+3 Vdc for 100 ms and then a reduced voltage of 40 -0/+2 Vdc for 1 second.
Attached is the circuit I designed and tested. It passed the 40V surge test, but failed the 60V surge test and looks like the TPS3701 was damaged.
On the TI website, I found a High Voltage App for these voltage supervisors that suggests to use a Voltage Divider, Zener Diode or Shunt Voltage Reference Method.
I'm thinking to replace D1 & D2 on my circuit with one of the methods above. Can someone please recommend which method would work best for my application?
Thank you,
James
