Part Number: BQ76920
Hello;
I just wanted to make double certain I fully understand the limits on my current range, given the OCD/SCD maximum settings of 100mV and 200mV respectively. And just for the record, it escapes me why in the world they would set the overload right smack dab in the middle of the range, leaving less than half the range for the application's peak current span.
Nevertheless, the example in the 920 datasheet is very odd and seems wrong.
- First of all, they're using the wrong max value for the SRN input for SCD...Unless I've gone completely round the bend (scheduled for today ;-D), a short circuit in discharge would result in SRN being POSITIVE - not negative. So their use of -300mV would seem incorrect. The max rating for SRN when POSITIVE is listed as 3.6V.
- The example lists a max CHARGE current of 3A, which would seem to be the one that should be used against the -300mV max rating.
Regardless, if 100mV is my range, I'll have to drop my amplifier gain to 3.7 to accommodate a 250A peak discharge current. 100uOhm x 250A x 2.7 = 92.5mV
If my understanding is incorrect, please help me resonate some understanding
Thanks
