I am using the HPA291 dev. board to characterise a battery system composed of a bq27500-v130 and a paralleled pair of LiPo cells (each 1400mAh nominal capacity). The problem is that at the end of the charge phase of the cycle the gauge reads 100% state of charge and the FC bit is set but after some time of relaxing the Qmax is updated to a value greater than 2800mAh. At this point the state of charge drops (at first attempt to 98%, at second attempt to 95%). This causes the FC bit to clear. This then prevents the discharge phase of the learning cycle from starting (using the BqEasy automated cycling process in BQEVSW).
The charger used appears to behave correctly - it's a constant current then constant voltage charger that terminates with the cell voltage at around 4.18V.
The battery chemistry is set to the default. A battery chemistry selection cycle was run and completed but without any notification of what chemistry was the best fit.
The manufacturer has stated that the cells are of LiCoO2 anode, but that is all that's known.
Please an you advise?
Thank you
