Part Number: BQ34110
I am playing with the spreadsheet privided by Matt Sunna in another topic ().
It is not entirely clear to me how to use the spreadsheet. For instance, on the Application Settings sheet, the values are per cell? How do I tell the gauge my pack has 10 (NiMH) cells?
BTW, is there a new version of this spreadsheet?
As a first try I set the values on the App Settings sheet assuming per cell and created the csv file for bqStudio. That leads me to another question.
I am using the BQ34110 EVM with EV2400. I connected the pack to BAT+/BAT-. BqStudio recognized the gauge. I set jumpers on J2 to >5V. I loaded the aforementioned file into bqSudio and wrote to the data file. But when I read it back, it seems the defaults are returned.
The values displayed on the registers windows do not make much sense either. It shows 0V for the output voltage; I would expect something different from zero but maybe it is related to the issue above. I know something is working because the temperature readings change if I head the onboard thermistor.
I will make some modifications to the EVK (thermistor in the pack, correct the resistor value for the voltage divider) but I would like to make sure I works before that. So, what am I doing wrong?
