Hello,
I am using BQ34Z100-G1 to monitor the state of charge of a bus battery. The battery is 225Ah with max current of 1200A, although in practice it does not go beyond 300A. It is a 12-cell lead acid battery with a nominal voltage of 24V. We are using a 100uOhm sense resistor therefore the maximum voltage in the input pins of the BQ34Z100-G1 is +-30mV (well under the limits). I know that the optimal thing would be to increase the value of the sense resistor to use the full range of the ADC but that part of the system is fixed because it is part of the enclosure itself.
We have been trying to run the calibration cycle for a long time with little or no success. I have attached the logging files for both the charge and discharge part of the calibration cycle (each one is divided in two, the two corresponding at the charging because it took a really long time to charge and we did it in two days; and the two corresponding to the discharge because once discharged, while waiting for relaxation at some point during the night the computer restarted itself therefore stopping the recording, so the second file for the discharge corresponds to a short logging of the battery fully relaxed).
I have also attached in the .rar file the .gg.csv file with all the parameters used.
The steps I followed for the calibration cycle are:
1. Start with a fully discharged battery and charge at a rate about C/15
2. Let the battery relax for 18 hours
3. Discharge at a rate of about C/10
3. Let the battery relax for 18 hours
4. At this point I expected to see the Update Status flag to go from 4 to 6 and the Max Error to go down from 100% to something between 1-5% but none of them happened.
I hope you can help me find out why the calibration cycle is not working properly.
Thank you
Javier
