Part Number:TPS2121
Dear Arthur,
I just evaluated the TPS2121 on its EVM and found it to be a very nicely working new piece of silicon. However, I am looking for a possibility to lower the current limit, which unfortunately has a very restricted range of 1 to 4 Ampere. I would like to lower it to 0.5 A. Is there any possible tweak to do this, for instance feeding a bias voltage over a certain resistor value into the ILIM pin in order to shift the comparator trip point? I tried this, but didn't obtain the desired result. I could of course use an external shunt and a current sense amplifier such as the INA180, but this way would lose the high degree of integration, efficiency, board space and cost saving.
Furthernore, a more elaborate functional block diagram would be nice, showing also the action of the undervoltage comparators and of the current limiter itself.
Kind regards
Swen
