BQ77PL900: BQ77PL900 Host Mode Cell Balancing TimeOut Problem

$

Part Number:BQ77PL900

Hello everyone.

I used the BQ77PL900 battery charging and protection application.  The BQ77PL900 is in host mode.   The application is connected to the battery card bq77pl900 integrated.
Balance orders and cell voltage monitoring is done via the charger.  But there are some deficits in the system. The most important of these is that when the balance order is issued, the BQ77PL900 continues to balance when the battery is removed from the charger.  Because there is no processor on the Bms card. Only BQ series integrals are available. In order to avoid this situation, I think it is necessary to add a function such as time-out or Blank Off when I2C buffer is empty while running BQ77PL900 integrated in host mode.

I will summarize the subject;

BQ77PL900 in host mode --> Read Cell Voltage --> Cell 1 is largest(example) --> Send Cell 1 balance order through line I2C --> If the battery is removed before Balance is off at this time, balance continues.

To prevent the above situation; The BQ77PL900 integrates a time-out feature for the balance status when operating in Host mode.

Thank you for reply.

LMR23630: How to do the TINA simulation with LMR23630 spice model?

Part Number:LMR23630

I have been doing simulation with TINA tool for buck-regulator using LMR23630.

In LMR23630, pins-6 and 11 are NC (not connected) as one pin is NC and another one is adjustable switching frequency selector (If this pin is floating, default switching frequency would be 400 kHz). But TINA is stopping and showing error to check the pin connectivity. Please support.

UC3843: UC3843: CC-CV Implementation

Part Number:UC3843

Hi,

I found a 600W Boost converter online. I plan on implementing CC-CV scheme on it to convert it to a Li-ion charger.

The converter uses UC3843 to generate control signals for the boost FET. I'm attaching a schematic I found of the circuit  its chinese make, so pardon the mistakes)

The converter has two controls - Voltage adjustment and current limiting. The circuit uses LM358. One opamp of 358, U3:A, takes in inductorCurrent sense voltage and generates control signal to limit the inductor current. This signal is sent to ISense pin of 3843. RV1 helps in adjusting the limiting current. Other opamp of 358 is unused. RV2 adjusts the output voltage. A resistor divider is used at the output to sense the output voltage. This signal is sent to Vfb pin of 3843.

So this converter has CV and Current limiting provision. To implement CC functionality, I plan on putting a sense resistor on the output line (low side sensing). The outputCurrent sense voltage will be sent to the 2nd opamp of 358. The amplified signal will be sent to Vfb to control the output such that output current remains constant. Now, there are 2 control signal generation circuits for 3843 (CC and CV). To switch between the two, I'll be using some sort of switch which will be controlled by microcontroller.

My questions are -

Q1. Will this implementation of CC-CV charging work?
Q2. Vfb pin requires 2.5V to operate. What does this mean? How does 3843 regulate the output voltage?
Q3. Is this correct ?  -" Whenever voltage at Isense exceeds 1v, current limiting circuitry kicks in, the duty cycle of FET is reduced to decrease the output voltage and hence the current."

Part Number:LMR62014

Hi team.

Do you have a regulation for minimum output voltage for light load?

We want to use with input 3.9V ~ 12V and out put is as low as possible.

(The load is 100mA maximum.)

According to data sheet, there are limited for output when the input voltage is low.

Sincerely.

Kengo.

TPS61193-Q1: Audible Noise from Inductor

Part Number:TPS61193-Q1

Hi

We are using TPS61193 part in one of design for Gauge illumination and TFT backlight section.

Hearing Audible noise in below ranges:

Gauge illumination inductor from VIN - 13.2V to 13.6V (Non-Shielded type inductor)

TFT illumination backlight inductor from VIN - 16.5V to 16.8V,  (Using Shielded type Inductor)

Design operating range is Vin = 6V to 18V.

Findings:

1. Below is schematic image, used 1 x 47uF(electrolyte Cap) & 2 x 10uF(Ceramic Cap) and I changed the ceramic cap (C911 & C912) to 22uF and still hear audible noise.

2. I removed the  2x10uF(Ceramic cap) and audible noise is completely reduced, But TPS61193-Q1 datasheet recommend to use Ceramic cap in Note A and whereas in Note B recommend to use physical size ceramic cap should be minimized.

Query:

1. What will impact if i remove the ceramic cap ?. Since product in final stage and not in place to change the inductor to shielded type from Non-shielded type

2. Without removing capacitor, what would be TI recommendation to isolate the audible noise.

Note A:

Note B:

Part Number:TPS25927

Hello,

I would like to get a better understanding of the accuracy given in the figure 20 of the TPS25927 datasheet: is it accuracy of one/multiple samples at the exact condition of

"TJ = 25°C, VVIN = 12 V, VEN/UVLO = 2 V, RILIM = 100 kΩ, CVIN = 0.1 μF, COUT = 1 μF, CdVdT = OPEN (unless stated otherwise)"

OR

Is it the expected accuracy over a specified/full temperature/voltage/process span?

How large accuracy spread in different samples could one expect working at a voltage of 6-9 V in the temperature span of 10 - 60 degC?

Best Regards

Part Number:LMR16030

Hi, Team

My communication customer plan to use LMR16030 in their smart antenna product. The nomial input voltage may change between 10V~30V, the output voltage is 9V.

Acording to system requirement, customer need to delay 200ms of LMR16030 startup, after system power on. As there is current cource inside LMR16030 EN pin, customer want to just connect a capacitor between EN pin and GND to add delay. They have tried on EVM, and it works.

Is there any risk to do this?

Thanks

Kevin

We have a question about TPS622314.

We try to control EN pin by external PLD.

We want to use gate resistor between external PLD and EN pin.

Do you know the recommended value about gate resistor?

We consider 1kΩ. Is there any problem?

TPS22925: Reverse Current blocking fails

Part Number:TPS22925

Hello

I have an issue with the reverse current blocking feature.

I use 2 of the TPS22925 as power multiplexer.

One is on the external Bus Supply, the other gets the power from an internal DC/DC converter. The enable signals come from opto couplers, driven from the 48 V input of the DC/DC Converter. I have added a schematic (pdf) for clarity.

I hope, you can open this.

The multiplexer has an static function.

When both Voltages are available, the Power has to be delivered from the DC/DC Converter.

The control signals get their states from 48V input voltage of the DC/DC converter before both inputs are powered and do not change anytime.

Unfortunately I had to measure, that the disabled lower switch (U803) does not block, when both Voltages are available.

What is wrong? What should I change ?

In the data sheet is written

"...In order for this feature [reverse current blockig] to work, the TPS22925 must be disabled..."

Has it to be enabled before?

Sincerely,

Steffen

Part Number:TPS65910

Hello. We have a problem with soldering QFN package (TPS65910A3A1RSL). Sometimes, any of TPS65910 pins may be not wetted. Paste is F541Sn62-90M3 of Heraeus. Minimum pad width of the paste is 0.3mm. The stencil has 0.12mm of thickness, it's made from stainless steel. The aperture is as TI recomend (width is 0.2mm, long is 0.8mm).

What can you recomend to us? Can using special agent for cleaning of stencil, for example - Zestron, resolve the problem?

Hi,

I'm checking the feature of TPS259533.

In the table of datasheet, TPS259533 OVC is 5.7 typ and EN is active low.

I think it can support output overvoltage clamp at 5.7V and OVLO with dividing resistor at EN.

Could you let me know that my understand is correct?

Thanks.

TPS659037: About OFF sequence time

Part Number:TPS659037

Hi,

In the current circuit, the time from the fall of PWRON to the fall of RESET_OUT was approximately 12 sec.
Could you tell me how to shorten the period until shutdown sequence?

I confirmed the following post.
e2e.ti.com/.../620511

”Another way is to connect GPIO_7/POWERHOLD and RESET_IN directly to LDOVRTC_OUT. This will enable the PMIC as soon as power is supplied, and will not require any software to keep it up.”
If this method is used, can I shorten the time until RESET_OUT fall?

Best Regards,
Yusuke
