BQ24610: Power dissipation calculation

$

0

Part Number:BQ24610

Hi Ti,

Currently i'm checking the charger IC thermal performance. Surprisingly the IC produce very high heat even the Iac current (base on datasheet) is just 25mA. For below condition, the measured Tc is 68degC @ 25degC ambient.

Is it normal for the IC to have high temperature like that?

How to calculate Power dissipation for BQ24610 IC?

Condition:

Vin=24V

Vout=12.381V

Iout=1.05A.

Thank you.

Best regards,

Fariz

BQ25504: Behavior of BQ25504 VSTOR, VBAT, VBAT_OK

Part Number:BQ25504

Hi sir,

Follow the picture from datasheet which is shown as below,

When the VSTOR > VBAT_UV, internal PMOS will be opened that VSTOR will = VBAT. When VBAT arrive to VBAT_OK_HYST, IC will raise up VBAT_OK, Is it right?

But we measure result from our board, we found the VSTOR arrived to VBAT_OK_HYST, IC raised up VBAT_OK .

Internal PMOS seems doesn't open, therefore the power can't keep the system work. System will shut down at VSTOR dropped.

How can we solve this?

Thanks.

CSD19536KTT: NMOS/PMOS available to disconnect ground?

Part Number:CSD19536KTT

Hi, guys.

I'm using the application note

http://www.ti.com/lit/an/snoa474a/snoa474a.pdf

to create the Howland Current Pump with OPA551 with an MSP-EXP432P401R launchpad.

A periodic signal (100Hz ~ 4kHz, max amp = 20V) is fed to the OPA551 input.

For my personal reason, I wish to disconnect the GND which is connected to the load.

Like most NMOS/PMOS application, I can use 3.3V GPIOs to open or close the circuit.

However, since the OPA551 is giving high voltage output and current(also positive + and negative -), I wasn't sure whether I can apply NMOS/PMOS for my case.

Can I use NMOS or PMOS to disconnect GND when I want? If so, what part from TI can you recommend?

The power consumption, package size, or price doesn't matter. I wish a product that can handle this high voltage and current.

Also, I do prefer a package that can be populated to a breadboard right away.

Or if there is a better solution instead of using NMOS/PMOS, considering that I'm using a MSP-EXP432P401R launchpad, I wish to hear other methods, too

BQ34Z100-G1: The capacity is wrong after restoring the firmware.

Part Number:BQ34Z100-G1

I got the correct data from the first device (full capacity, SOH, SOC, etc...) and produced and exported the SREC file, which was imported on a new BQ34Z100-G1 board. File, first of all, I saw that the data is a bit wrong. His estimated capacity is only 2,000 ma. Then I put a full charge and discharge after putting the power to the cutoff voltage, but unexpected things happened:

1、DOD0 Passed Q The discharge depth shows that 16.4ah is discharged. Why does Full Charge Capacity show 13.4ah?(My full capacity should be around 16ah)。

2、After importing the SREC file with me, should I change the status of the Leamed Status to 06 instead of keeping 02? (The battery pack is the same, no replacement, only the BQ34Z100 has been replaced)

3、After recovering the SREC file, does the BQ34z100 need to perform a complete charge and discharge to display the correct data?

4、After recovering the SREC file, what should I do to get the product to adapt quickly and put it into use?

Thanks in advance for technical experts。

BQ4050: Large Ah drop

Part Number:BQ4050

Hi,

We uploaded the values sent by TI's GPC tool into the gauge. In the GPC report ,deviation was observed in SOC and when asked TI about the accuracy , we were advised to run the accuracy tests.  When the We completed 2 charge-discharge cycles, during the 3rd discharge cycle , at the start of discharge there was a massive drop in the RAh from 24947 Ah to 1792 Ah (SOC from 98 % to 7%). Is there any specific reason as to which this condition could have occurred. The pack is a 4S8P pack.I have attached the log files , GPC report and gg file for reference.

Thanks,

AV

BQ27421EVM-G1A: Storing Qmax and Ra Tables in NVM To Maintain Learned Data

$

Part Number:BQ27421EVM-G1A

All,

I am attempting to redundantly ensure that I do not lose learned data about my battery when the battery is low. In case the gas gauge does lose battery, I was hoping to be able to reprogram in qmax and the Ra table values and completely restore it to the "learned" state. The user manuals warn that these parameters should only be used to create a "golden image". This concerns me my plan isn't a recommended course of action. Does anyone have any insight into the learning algorithms and whether or not programming in the previous qmax and Ra table values will effectively restore the gauge's memory?

Thanks!

Zach

TPS92513: Frequency range of PDIM causes the stripes in camera‘s image

Part Number:TPS92513

We found that the frequency of PDIM signal need to higher than 10khz to avoid the stripes . 20Khz will be better.

So i decide to use the ADJ pin to adjust the current instead of PDIM. I plan to connect the ADJ pin to MCU's DAC pin  and use the PDIM as a ENABLE/DISABLE singal. Is there any risks to this solution?

Application scenarios:  Two green led in series,  1A current, 3~4V each led.   adjustable to the lightness.

Or could you help me to introduce another suitable  driver IC to me?

Part Number:TPS53219A

Hi,

If in our application, VDD will up to 26V (spec recommend 25V), then:

1. Is  26V okey for VDD? (even the abs. max is 18V)

2. Or can I use LDO for VDD power? Is this any side effect?

Thank you.

Hi,

we want to use LP8552 but we can not be sure of its operating temperature spec. In datasheet there writes -30C to +85C at section 7.3 but -40C to +85C at packaging information section. can you please clarify the exact margin? We need -40C for our products.

Part Number:TPS84259

Is it feasible to generate -12V from a 12V supply with TPS84259?

From the first graph shown in the datasheet I guess that it is possbile and that in this condition the output current is limited to 0.7-0.8A. Is it correct?

LMR14050-Q1: Voltage control of an inductive load

$

Part Number:LMR14050-Q1

The aim is to control the voltage supply of an inductive load in a car. The voltage curve is defined as follows:

  1. Voltage increase from 0 to 12 VDC via ramp within a given time
  2. Keep voltage of 12VDC for a set time
  3. After max. 1 second, the voltage must drop to 2 VDC
  4. If the voltage is switched off, this should also be done via a ramp.
  • Supply voltage is 12 VDC
  • Maximum power consumption of the load is approx. 4.5 A at 12 VDC
  • Minimum power consumption of the load is approx. 0.7 A at 2 VDC

First idea was to use an simple switcher with step down converter (LMR14050-Q1).

My Questions are

  • Is this component suitable for this?
  • Which alternatives are there?
  • What additional components do I have to provide?
  •  For example a step-up converter for the power supply and a Zener Diode

best regards sincerely

Maik

Below details need, the designing for 4G modem

1) If we give input Voltage 5V can we get the o/P voltage 4.2V Max and it should not go beyond this voltage level. Plz confirm also refer the spec and Drawing.

 2) What is O/P Voltage regulation Voltage  range between 4.4 - 4.5V.

3) If the Battery not connected can we get the O/P Voltage ?   if we connect battery 33uF /47uF is this possible without battery will get O/P ??
