UCD90120A: Extracting the FAULT LOGs from Intel HEX configuration file via TI Fusion software

Hello

- We would like to extract the fault logs from a master/slave UCD device pair which are only remotely accessible. 

- We are able to export the configuration files of these UCD devices into Intel HEX format . 

- Next, the configuration files are imported into some local UCD devices which are accessible in our own lab.

- During the TI Fusion Digital Power Designer Device Configuration Import step, when the Data Flash Import happens, the log reports that "Clearing data flash logs...".

- Therefore, all the fault logs stored in the configuration file, exported into the Intel HEX file, are lost when read back by the TI Fusion tool.

- Is it possible to disable the "Clearing data flash logs..." step in the import script of the TI Fusion Tool?  Please advise.

BQ34Z100-G1: GPCRA0 and GPCRB error when using Lead Acid PowerSonic PS-1250 12V 5Ah battery

I get attached errors when submitting attached GPCRA and GPCRB files.

Battery is lead acid so using C/20 discharge rate. Could this be source of error? Any ideas?

24V Load Switch

Hello, 

I am looking for a load switch to use with DRV8872 motor driver in order to turn on/turn off 24V rail to the motor driver and in turn, the motor. However I cannot find any load switch rated for such a high voltage. Are there any 24V, 3A max load switches available or something of similar application?

BQ24297: Current limiting method for cable connections without D +, D-.

Currently, customers are applying circuit design with BQ24297.

condition
1. When a USB D +, D- line cable is connected to the product, the product recognizes it as USB and current limit is 500mA.
2. When connecting only the power cable without USB D + and D- line, the current is limited to 500mA while recognizing the product as USB.
3. When connected to Fast Charger adapter, it recognizes as adapter and confirm that it is charging without limitation to 2A.

Can I change the current limit when connecting a power cable with no USB D + or D-line in # 2?

My customer is considering to replace the TPS65218 from "B1" version to "D1" version.

Can they replace directly?

In other words, is the schematic required to change?

Below workarounds are not implemented.

  1. 100-300pF capacitor, or
  2. Schottky diode, AND
  3. improved layout at the DCDC4 output cap (multiple vias & optimal component placement)

Hello,

I'd like to ask whether TI has a buck-boost regulator similar with TPS63030 but with lower quiescent current value? Picture below is cut from TPS63030 DS.

Considering a battery with 17Ah capacity, 10 years service life, the energy consumed by TPS63030 is 35uA * 24 hours * 365 * 10 / 1000000 = 3.07Ah, about 20% total energy.

I need to limit the Solar Panel output voltage to 7V in order to avoid the OVP protection. The nominal voltage is 6V, but it can reach more in ideal sun light. 

Can I use an LDO to perform this task? The max current is 500mA. Can you recomend the best device?

TLV743P: Device Marking for SOT-23(5) package...

Hi,

Where can I find the device marking for the TLV743P SOT-23(5) package?  The datasheet and website seem to only show how the X2SON (4) packages are marked with a couple exceptions. 

We have some SOT-23(5) parts marked 1DDT, and we need to double check that they are indeed TLV74325PDBVR (2.5V).  

And we also have some other parts / voltages in this family, so we would like to find a complete chart or a key to decode the markings.

LM5119: HICCUP mode

I'm testing a dual BUCK(13V,18V) by LM5119.

There is no problem with 13v but 18v start a hiccup at no load.
Looking at the data sheet, there seems to be only an over current related to the hiccup.
Can you be a hiccup for another reason?

-test condition

  1. Input: DC 66~100V

    Output: DC 13V / DC 18V

            DC 18V 1A(typ) / 11A(peak)

TPS3808: Reset Timing

Hi , 

While  referring to the TPS3808 reset  timing diagram on Page 7 of datasheet, require the following clarifications.

In the design VDD is set to 3.3V and VIT is 1.2V.

 1.Should the VDD be Vddmin(1.7v) before  VIT+hys (sense threshold)

2.Is it Ok for VDD to be 3.3V within the reset duration. In the design when sense reaches VIT , VDD does not reach the 3.3V.

3. Once VDD is >1.7V and then Reset logic depends on VIT. Once sense pin crosses VIT , then there shall be user configured reset delay independent of Vdd and VIT power rails. Please confirm.

4.Does the MR pin accept pulse of 100ns.  In datasheet it is mentioned as 1ns (min) . Please confirm.

I need to build two phase PFC from two separate secondary windings of the three phase transformer.

The third transformer phase is loaded and cannot be used.

I use two PFC preregulators UCC2818– one for each phase. How can I build common voltage regulator for two chips?

TPS24750: constant current limit feature

Hi Team,

My customer wants to limit output current at 100mA when load current increases more than 100mA.
He wants not to set fault timer, it is required that 100mA is continue to flow forever until output current decreases below 100mA.

Is the feature possible for TPS24750?
If the answer is no, I would like to know if there is TI device that meets the requirement.
Input voltage is 9V in this case.

LM2665: is external diode for start up necessary?

Hello Team,

One of my customer was using TC1240AECHTR which does not require external diode for start up. We suggested LM2665 as an alternate which has same pin out. however, as per LM2665 datasheet, it requires a general purpose diode for startup between Vin & Vout PINS 1 & 5.

For the LM2665M6X/NOPB, customer tested without the diode, the preliminary results are fine on the IC (3.3V input got doubled to 6.6V on board the driver under test).   

But, we would like to know if this GP diode is compulsory/mandatory for the device operation or it is recommended as precautionary.  

Our observation is that even without the diode the voltage double works, but if it is mandatory it may have some negative effect on performance.

Or what could be the adverse effect of not using it over the lifecycle of product as every startup sequence may require it.

 Please look into the exact purpose of the diode as even without it doubler is working (may have some other effect, unknown at this moment to us).
