Hello,

One of my customers is looking to have a slew rate of >20ms for a 5V supply and is considering the TPS2595 --> This is a very long slew rate of 0.25V/ms.

I do not see a maximum capacitor value for CDVDT in the Absolute Maximum table or the Recommended Operating Conditions table, there is only a minimum of 3300pF listed in the ROC table. Is the value of this capacitor limited? If so, what is the maximum value?

Looking at equations 3, the CDVDT value would need to be 168,000pf (168nF) to get the 0.25V/ms. Is this okay?

Hi,

I have an application where the battery limit is set at 600mA and the Load current is set at high (ILIM1).

ILIM1 high shows a max of 500mA.

If the load requires 1A, what happens?

a. if the input supply can support it, would this provide the 600mA to the battery plus the 1A to the load? (total 1.6A from the supply)

b.would it regulate the current from the source to a max of 500mA and the rest of the current would come from the battery (i.e. discharging the battery with a 500mA current)?

c.would it shut-off the path from the supply and all the current would be coming from the battery? (1A discharge from the battery)?

d. something else...

 VIN = 4.5V~5.5V.

 VOUT(LED total Vf) = 6.6V (Typ, 2LED in series)

 IOUT(LED current) = 200mA

  In these conditions, can TPS61169 drive LED with 200mA?

TPS3895: Spec for Isense_out

TPS389x's Isense_out is described on datasheet page-5, please let me confirm about two points below;

①What is the mean of Min: 0.0003A?

 For example, are Minimum spec mean device variation or specified condition?

 If device variation, I think that pull-up resistance value need too large.

②Is there specification of typical value for Isense_out?

There was a phenomenon that IC is broken.
I have a question.

(Specification condition)
Specification condition put minus 6V in VDD and It is a circuit that detects -5.317 to -5.686V.


(Question)
Q1.
Is there a problem with the circuit diagram below?

Q2.
Are there any problems with the specification conditions?
VDD:-6V
SENSE Voltage:-5.317~-5.686V

When the IC is broken
The reset continued and the resistance between SENSE pin and GND was smaller than the normal resistance.

Q3
Is there anything I can think of as a cause?

TPS61089: if Vin > Vout

Dear all,

I have seen the similar question.

It was mentioned in the post that If Vin>Vo+Vf (Vf is the voltage drop of the upper side body diode), then TPS61089 will works in the pass through mode. both the low side and the high side FET off, only body diode conducts.

We would like to confirm the following questions:

1、If Vin=12V,The Vout is set to 9V,is the actual output voltage zero?

2、If the input voltage starts to drop. When the input voltage drops to any volts, can the boost function of the chip work properly? I mean, in what condition,the chip start to boost.

3、Vin=12V,and the Vout is set to 9V. If Vin is keep 12V for longtime, Will the chip be damaged?

TPS3620-33-EP: Reverse Battery Behavior

Hello,

I am planning on using the TPS3620-33-EP battery switch in my design. I'm trying to predict the behavior of this chip if a battery is accidentally inserted reversed. Please see below for a simplified version of my circuit.

In this example, XBT1 is the battery holder. Normally, if the battery is inserted reversed into XBT1 and no other power is being applied to the circuit, Q1 would prevent any current from flowing, causing VBAT_CONN to be -3V and VBAT_IN to be 0V. However, I am unsure of what happens if this situation occurs when the TPS3620-33-EP is powered on VDD.

Here are my questions:

  • If I am supplying 3.3V to VDD and a battery is inserted reversed, will the TPS3620 drive VBAT to a certain voltage?
  • If I am supplying 3.3V to VDD and a battery is inserted reversed, will the TPS3620 allow any current to flow in or out of the VBAT pin?
  • I saw on the datasheet that when the TPS3620 sources VOUT from VDD, VBAT has a max leakage current of +/-100nA. Would that still apply in this scenario?
  • Is it possible to damage the TPS3620-33-EP from this example use case of reversing the battery? Or does that keep the voltage for the VBAT pin within absolute limits?

TPS54340: SW has large negative voltage

Hi team,

customer use TPS54340 in their new project, and have a questions. 

input=24V output=5V, under the light load, the SW waveform as below:

you can see that the low voltage level of SW will lower to -1.54V, while the datasheet show the min voltage of SW is -0.6V. does it will effect device operate?

do you have comments about how to reduce the low voltage?

LM3464AEVAL: The 4 FETs are not behaving identically.

Hello,

I've connected 4 LEDs to the 4 FETs and only 2 FETs can light up the LEDs. I did swap the LEDs to make sure that they are not the issue here. I don't know if this is an issue with the gate drive or the layout or the part itself. This is the second board that I purchased from you. The first board did not light up any LED from any FET. To the first board, I've added the 4.7K at the FET gate and still nothing. Let me know please if you can help with this issue. Thanks. Sana
