BQ25895: BQ25895 as UPS for Raspberry PI 3B+

Part Number:BQ25895

Hi,

I am trying to use the BQ25895 as a UPS controller to both charge a LiPo battery pack (2x 18650 in parallel) and supply power to a Raspberry Pi 3 B+ connected to PMID (5V + boost converter).
With Vbus = 0 (no external power supply) and LiPo battery connected, PMID is at 5V and the Raspberry PI boots correctly.

When I connect an external 5V power supply to Vbus, I see a very short glitch (<5ms) on PMID and the Raspberry PI continues to work fine. The battery is charging also correctly.
When I disconnect the 5V external power supply from Vbus, the PMID goes down to ca. Vbat (3.7V) for ca. 38ms and then goes back again to 5V.

Clearly this long voltage drop resets the Raspberry PI.

Is the length of this voltage drop structural? or can it be avoided/minimized? or is it possibly due to a problem with my setup (I use the same circuitry as in the EVM demo board).

Looking forward to getting some hints.... thanks!

Part Number:TPS2373-4EVM-758

Hi ,

My design is exactly the same as 8228.PMP21318_RevA(001)_Sch.

On my circuit board, I found that the duty cycle is not adjustable, and the duty cycle is always the maximum output.Working normally at 12V 5A( 90% efficiency), and the ripple is normal 50mv.Among them, the circuit near TL431 has great interference, resulting in the lifting of load, TL431 K level is always 11v, almost unchanged, resulting in the optocoupler feedback voltage at the other end is always 3.3v (TP23), thus the duty ratio is the largest, always the same. What may be the cause of this problem?I am now testing the external power supply.

Dear Expert,

I test device function with BQ24195EVM.

But I have some confuse between EVM and BQ24195.

The VBUS operating voltage is different, 3.9V~6V in EVM, but 3.9V~17V in device datasheet.

Could you help me double confirm it? Thanks!

TPS5450: TPS5450

Part Number:TPS5450

Hello,

Iam using TPS5450,According to circuit diagram from datasheet there are resistor divider network of r1=10 k and r2=3.16 k, but in my case i use r2 =3.3 k as 3.16 k is not available. following are the observation

vinvoutvsense(pin no 4)
5.53.60.98
64.081.10
75.021.36
122.920.80

when i apply input voltage 12 v or after 11v output voltage is decreasing, and after 12 v it remain contant 2.92 V.

and my requirement is vin =24v, vout= 4.2v and current =3.5A.

Please guide me how to achieve that.

(Urgent )TPS51486 VTT_CNTL issue.

Dear Sir,

First, I can't find the TPS51486 part number in first column. Therefore, i didn't key in part number

Our customer is using TPS51486 in their design. and currently they found out that the VTT_CNTL  pin function in-normal with they testing Power in On/Off in the charmer  temperature 55 °C

Here is the normal operation waveform:  (ambient temperature 25 °C) the system works fine with Power in On/Off! (the VTT_CNTL control signal  control is form the CPU)

And when we test system Power in On/Off in the chamber with 55°C, the waveform is as below, the VTT_CNTL have no response for the CPU signal and it caused VDDQ and VTT power up failure

and then we suspense that might the CPU control signal error, Therefore, we connect the the VTT_CNTL to the TPS51486 power good, and here is the waveform show the system work ok with Power in On/Off under 25°C

And then we have the system in the chamber testing Power in On/Off under 55°C , and again, as the waveform shown below, the VDDQ and VTT failure to power due to the VTT_CNTL fail to pull up the voltage to (PG have pull-up 100K to 3.3V)  and clamp the signal to low

it seems that the VTT_CNTL have some problem functional under high temperature. please kindly help us check what would cause the issue. i also attach the schematic as your reference. Please kinldy help us with this soon as you can due to customer next built is in a week and they can go in the next built without fixing this issue

Hi, team,

I use TPS54627 for input 12V, output 1.2V.

I find that there's a voltage drop of the rising edge of SW node. What I want to know is:

(1)why does this voltage drop occur?

(2)what influences will it cause for my system?

Ultrasonic Transducer Driver

Hello,

My project needs to drive a medium power ultrasonic piezoelectric transducer. The driver designs I have seen for these transducers typically use switching i.e. square waves to drive them, MOSFET driven, with Vpp 100v-200v  in some cases!

Question: What are my simplest options for driving these transducers.

* Resonant frequency: 28 KHz

* Input power: 20W

* Datasheet: I wish I could find one! :(

TPS659037: Input impedance of GPADC_IN2

Part Number:TPS659037

Hi,

I use the TPS6590379 in one of our designs.
At the GPADC_IN2 I have a voltage devider with RT=10kOhm and RB=68kOhm connected to VANA (LDOVANA_OUT). I measure VANA as 2.094V.
The theoretic output voltage of the divider should be 1.825V but I only measure 1.45VDC at GPADC_IN2.

Can you please tell me the input impedance of the GPADC_IN2 input. It looks like GPADC_IN2 has a resistor of around 33kOhm to GND.

Thanks and best regards,

Patrick

TPS65720: Getting temperature from TS pin

$

Part Number:TPS65720

Hi!

We are using a TPS657201 pmic in a project and we want to reduce te charge current when the battery temperature is below 10 degrees Celsius.

From what I can gather from the datasheet you can measure the TS_OUT and get a voltage in the range from 0 to 1.4V which in turn represents the temperature span from -20 to 60 degrees Celsius.

Is this scale linear or how does the transformation from voltage to temperature work?

Thanks in advance!

Best regards,

Björn

TPS65720: Getting temperature from TS pin

$

Part Number:TPS65720

Hi!

I want to reduce the charge current in a product I am developing when the temperature is below a certain degree.

From what I can see in the datasheet for the TPS657201 PMIC the TS_OUT pin can be used to read a voltage that corresponds to a temperature. The voltage interval is 0 to 1.4V and the corresponding temperature scale is -20 to 60 degrees Celsius. How is this conversion made? Is it a linear conversion?

How would one go about to get a battery temperature measurement using the value from the TS_OUT pin?

Thanks in advance!

Best regards,

Björn

Part Number:LMR36015

Tool/software:TINA-TI or Spice Models

Hello everybody,

I want do do some simulations with the spice model of LMR36015FB (http://www.ti.com/lit/zip/snvmbq5) in LTspice.

In the LMR36015FB_TRANS.LIB on spice line 1 there are the two parameters MODE and FASTSS:

.SUBCKT LMR36015FB_TRANS AGND BST EN FB NC PG PGND_0 PGND_1 SW VCC VIN_0 VIN_1 PARAMS: MODE=0 FASTSS=0

Can you explain me the meaning of these parameters? Which values can be chosen? I didn't find any explanation in the model usage notes.

Thanks in advance!

Best regards,

Simon
