LM5066I: How to use TI SAA TOOLS (USB-to-GPIO Interface Adapter) to communicate with LM5066I

Part Number:LM5066I

Hi Team,

Greetings! I am local FAE supporting telecom. I was using LM5066I EVM in lab and wants to know how to realize communications using SAA TOOLS in SMBus & I2C & SAA Debug Tool. My test based on below. However, the SAA tools just kept NACK when i was trying to get bits back from 15h (ADR0~ADR2 are all 0).

My questions are:

  • Do you know how to realize IIC andPMBUS COMMAND through TI's USB-to-GPIO tools?
  • Do you know how to realize IIC and PMBUS COMMAND through PI-COMMANDER?

Thanks!

[WTA] 12V to 4V & 3.3V power supply connection

Part Number:TPS563231

Hi Ti,

I want to ask about my project that required two output voltage 3.3V (1A) and 4V (2A) from the battery bus power supply input that is 12V.
Below is my circuit that converts 12V to 3.3V and 4V. My questions are:

1. Is this circuit correct? and;

2. Do both ICs (TPS563231) need to put heat sink to reduce heat?

LM5160A: current limit operation

Part Number:LM5160A

LM5160A has 3 current limit threshold.

I would like to know about each current limit operation.

1, High side current limit
I think high side FET turns off immediately and Low side FET turns on when high side FET peak current exceeds this threshold during high side ON period.
High side FET OFF and low side FET ON period is decided due to Vin and FB voltage.
    Is this understand correct?

2, Low side sourcing current limit
Which timing current is checked? I think low side source current decreases with time. And low side source current peak point will be low side FET turns ON timing.
So I think low side source current does not exceed this threshold because there is high side current limit function.
    How does this function operate?

3, Low side sinking current limit
I think both high side FET and low side FET turn off when low side sink current exceed this threshold.
    Is this understand correct?
If it is yes, I would like to know how long is this off period. I think output voltage is higher than set point when sink current becomes large.
So does off period become the time until FB voltage falls below reference voltage level?

Channel Connect for Single Channel

Part Number:LM3630A

Hi.

I need LED Back light driver IC.

Our LCD Module has 2x6 LED and single connect.

VF=39V and 40mA current for single channel.

But there is not part for Vout=39V and sinle channel Driver.

My question is when LM3630A 2 led channel is connected each other, can be channel current 28.5mA*2=57mA?

Looking for a step up DC/DC with bypass mode.

Hi,

My customer is looking for a step up DC/DC solutions with the following conditions:

  1. Vin is 5V to 20V
  2. Vout is 12V / 3A.
  3. if Vin is 12V or higher, the input can be connected to the output directly and by-pass the DC/DC.
  4. Small footprint.

Is there such a solution available ?

Regards,

CM.

REG71055: Start up problem

Part Number:REG71055

Hi TI experts,

we are using the charge pump REG71055 in several projects. At about 1 percent of the components we observe a maltfunction related to the turnig on the input voltage and the enable signal.

1) If the Enable is activated shortly after the supply voltage is applied, the components function correctly.

2) If only some time (e.g. 30s) after turning on the supply voltage the enable is activated, the conspicuous components do not work. There is no output voltage. If you wait in this condition for some time (about 60 s), the IC still generates the output voltage.

3) If the enable is removed and reactivated, the behavior is similar. With a short interruption (few seconds) of the enable signal, the IC can be activated again. If the enable signal was interrupted for a longer time (about 30 seconds), the above mentioned malfunction occurs.

At low temperatures the problem is more pronounced, that is, the time to start the IC is longer.

Has anyone ever observed this behavior or any idea what the problem might be?

Thanks and Regards

Hi Experts,

We want to know if HG pin which controls n-ch MOSFET has a chance to be a floating state before starting the operation. For example, when VIN is active and EN pin is low, is HG pin fixed to any state?

BQ24095: Charging IC output voltage drop issue above battery voltage reach above 3.9V during battery charging

Part Number:BQ24095

Hello Team,

I have an issue as per bellow:

During evalution of BQ24095 charging ic i found that during battery charging process when battery reach above 3.9V i found that charging IC output voltage drop approx 0.2V And our battery charger have LED when battery is in charging then our charger LED will glow in red color and when battery is fully charge or absent of battery our charge will glow in green color. So during charging process we observe that when our battery reach above 3.9V then our charger LED blink from red to green and again red. And that time charging IC output voltage also drop from 0.2V.

So kindly give solution for this why this happen which logic inside it and due to which factor happen this?

Waiting for your prompt response.

Thanks,

Denish Limbachiya

Part Number:LM3478

Tool/software:TINA-TI or Spice Models

Hi Team,

On of my customer is looking for below details. Please help.

For LM3478 spice model : is it possible to add pulse skipping feature at low load conditions in the spice model? This means when I do spice simulation with this model I should be able to see Pulse skipping at Low load conditions ( Vin max =19V at 105C).

Do you have a closed loop model for a simple flyback with LM3478 ( accurate spice model)  using TINA TI ?

BQ25601D: Is HIZ disabled automatically when an input source is plugged in?

Part Number:BQ25601D

Dear TI support team,

Our circuit are designing buck charger with BQ25601D.
We observed that HIZ (High impedance) mode was disabled automatically when an input source was plugged in.
However we don't know whether it is always correct behavior or not.

According to datasheet (SLUSDA2) p.18 "9.3.3.1 Power Up REGN Regulation", HIZ mode will be enabled when a poor input source is plugged in.
But we can't confirm HIZ mode will be disabled when a good one is plugged in.
Please tell us whether HIZ mode will be disabled or not.

Best regards

TPS7A1650DGNR

I have a problem with a part I buy from you which I am wondering if you can help with. The part is TPS7A1650DGNR which as you will see is a 3-60V voltage regulator. I have to date only used this in this board up to 26V and it has been fine but I now have had customers using them at 50V and reporting "magic smoke". I have run some tests and have confirmed the problem. The first thing I checked was the data sheet to confirm correct connection and then checked that I wasn't exceeding the power dissipation. The regulator only powers two other IC's which draw less than 10mA. I have even tried it on a board with no other components and thus drawing zero current. This was still a problem. I would appreciated it if someone could contact me to discuss what further information you require in order to help me resolve the problem as I cannot ship any more product until I have a solution.

power-on reset

$

Part Number:bq27510-G3

Hello,

I use GPOUT (=H) as Batt_LOW to prevent the device from switching on when connected to the charger with less than 10% remaining capacity. This works quite well.

With one exception: If the battery is very discharged (e.g. only 2V), GPOUT (<10%=H) delivers a short L-pulse when plugging in the charger, which causes the device to switch on. This is very bad, because the device does not have enough power to start and gets stuck in a boot loop. I have to prevent this L-impulse.

I assume that the power-on reset of the BQ27510, which starts at 2.2V, is responsible.

Question: Is there a way to prevent this L-pulse?

Best regards

Whether the TPS2553, pass the 60950 Annex CC certification?
