Hi team,

Could you help with the question below from my customer?

How behave this device if the current detection can not be done correctly due to the CSP or CSN pin is open or short each other?
Customer is concerned that the feedback control may not work properly and excessive current may flow.

Hi team,

My customer has a question. because the TPS65381-Q1 is worked with the TMS570, so when the TPS65381A-Q1 is power-up at first time, without any TMS570 program to config it's registers, what is the status of TPS65381A-Q1? could it power rail output the voltage? Thanks.

TPS54302: Inductor Selection

Part Number: TPS54302

Hello team,

I'm not sure about the inductor I have to select for my project. My project specifications are:

Vout=3.3V

Vin(max)= 24V

I(out)= 30mA

Since I need the buck converter to supply VCC to power up the microcontroller and some communication circuit (I2C,RS232/USART converter), my output current is really low: 30mA.

According to the formula for calculating the minimum inductance value, Lmin is inversely proportional to the Iout, and hence I get a minimum value of 790uH (fsw=400kHz, Kind=0.3) which is so big in comparison to Recommended Component Values provided in the Table2 as 6.8uH.

Could you please give me an advice on selecting the right inductor for my project?

Thanks in advance!

TPS61022: burns in high impedance input source condition

Part Number: TPS61022

I use tps61022 and my design is exactly like the recommended design in the datasheet

I connect a battery to its input and it works fine and gives me correct voltage (5.25V) and sufficient current. but when I want to measure the input current by putting an ampere meter on the input of the circuit, the tps61022 burns immediately and its SW pin connects to the ground. the series resistor of amper meter is 100 ohm. I want to measure no load quiescent current of tps61022 so for appropriate ampere meter range, its series resistor becomes 100 ohm.

why it is so? did you have such an experience? do you have any idea?

I will be grateful if you help me with this problem.

Hi team

The "Cathode to Anode" maximum voltage is indicated on the data sheet.

I understand that this voltage is important.

However, the maximum value for the Anode to Cathode voltage is not shown.

What is the maximum Anode to Cathode voltage value?

Are the components marked in red in the application circuit below absolutely necessary?

Can you recommend Cout and TVS diodes if necessary?

Part Number: TL432

Hi Support team

As you see the test condition of Iref is R1=10k ohm & R2=∞.

Could you help to confirm if Iref would be changed for R1 value change? Is it still the same value(2~4uA) as datasheet?

In actual application R1=41.2k & R2=10.7k, what ‘s the Iref value? What’s Vka voltage if considering Iref under different R1 & R2?

BQPRODUCTION: bqProduction + EV2400

Part Number: BQPRODUCTION

Hi,

What I want to achieve is to flash my BQ27750 in production.

I have completed all the following steps:

1. Find ChemID using the "Gauge Development Kit"

2. Performing a learning cycle on my PCB

3. Generated .srec file in bqstudio (updated to BQSTUDIOTEST after reading this post: e2e.ti.com/.../716508)

I was then looking over this video (https://training.ti.com/bq40z50-setup-and-going-production and was reading here (e2e.ti.com/.../2368783)that when you want to flash the fuel gauge in production one should use the bqProduction SW and the EV2400 (since reading from you website "EV2300 is not supported for new designs" )

We then purchased a EV2400 and flashed it with the latest FW (0.28) as suggested by the post.

When I now try to connect to the EV2400 I get the same fault as described in the earlier post i.e "Communication adapter not supported", furthermore when I now connect my "Gauge Development Kit" my fuel gauge is no longer automatically detected...

Overall I have to say that nothing has been working straight away using your fuel gauge+tools. Have solved most of the problem so far by FW updates, SW updates and reading workarounds from the forum but now we are stuck.

So first, what can I do to make our "Gauge Development Kit" work again?

Second, how can we get the EV2400 and bqProduction to work? (On this point I would not like to have the answer "Buy a EV2300" or use bqStudio since you cant expect a manufacture to use bqStudio where they have full access and can mess things up ).

BQ34Z100-G1: BQ34Z100-G1 capacity jump

$

Part Number: BQ34Z100-G1

Dear colleague,

Below is customer description, and attachment is CC file. Could you please give some advice?

Thanks a lot!

1. When the customer's battery in the battery factory, they made the curve change of the battery cell there on July 15. The main change item is the internal resistance of the battery cell.

2. The BMS board at that time was on the battery pack, after the update of internal resistance, through the EV2400, IT_ENABLE command to do a charge and discharge cycle, at the end of the cycle pack voltage is 68V, capacity was about 57 percent. The battery pack has been standing in the workshop, a day later to measure the capacity, the capacity is basically unchanged.

3. After receiving the notice from the end customer, the shipping voltage was changed to 65V. The battery factory first discharge, then charge and then discharged, then charge the battery pack to 65V. And the capacity is about 40%.  (The battery will be shipped on July 25th and 26th.)

4. When the battery packs are delivered to the end customer, the capacities becomes about 6% and the voltage remains 65V. Therefore, they coordinated with the end customer and randomly selected 10 groups of the battery pack in the battery factory. When the battery was stationary for one night, one battery pack capacity jumped to the capacity of before charging and discharging.

5. In the battery packs (6%) which delivered to the end customer randomly selected a pack, discharging, and then charge to 65V, capacity shows about 40%.

Questions now:

1. Why does the capacity jump to the capacity of before charging and discharging?

2. At the same time and at different places, why does the capacity of the battery in the end customer's hand jump to the capacity of before charging and discharging, and it is random in the battery factory?

3. After recharging and redischarging again, whether there will be a risk of the capacity jump?

Part Number: UCC2813-2

Hi Experts:

My customer is using the UCC2813-2 for the power design , the turn on threshold is 12.5V, however, the maximum rating of VCC is 12V , so I have two questions:

1)  The start up voltage should be above the 12.5V which will beyond the maximum rating ,is it risk to damage the device.

2)  If the device has started up , should be also need to supply the voltage (if supplied from the output) which will above the 12.5V?

Part Number: UCC28180

Hi

UCC28180 frequency accuracy is not met customer's requirement, customer want to know if pin4 FREQ can be used as CLK sync?

if yes, customer can get a high frequency accuracy.

now, customer use 17.8k resisitor, they designed several power modules, most frequency is around 115kHz, but 1 power module frequency is 130kHz.

I check datasheet, this frequency is not very high accuracy.

thanks.

TPS61240: Step-Up DC/DC Converter getting heated suddenly

Part Number: TPS61240

Hi,

I am using step-up converter TPS61240DRVR to step up 3.7V from the battery to 5V which is required for my application. I referred datasheet and made a schematic, after getting PCB, it was working for around 3-4 months until suddenly other day battery become swollen. The device was with the software team who have no idea about hardware immediately disconnected the battery and left it over.

After disposing of the battery, I took the fresh battery and connected it to the board after found that the board was heated and found the step-up converter was very hot. I removed the battery, took a new board and connected the battery but again it was hot on the new board.

I thought it must be a battery issue, changed a battery again, tried previous battery on some other application board and battery was working fine.

What could be a possible reason for the same?

Can you please let me know how to debug the issue?
