I would like to ask, if we built the battery pack management circuit successfully as per TI's documentation around BQ40Z50-R2, to charge the pack, do we simply supply voltage to "+" and "-" charging terminals of the battery pack? Or is it required to connect to "+" and "-" of each cell (as in balance chargers)?

in either case, to charge the battery pack, is it required to add an additional IC to the battery pack circuitry, i.e. BQ25710? to my understanding, i believe not, and that BQ40Z50-R2 is sufficiently capable to manage charging the pack properly. This is my main doubt.

Excuse the simplicity of my question but i was not able to find a direct answer to it.

I have one question about LM5155.

the condition is as followed.

VCC 12V

Vbias can be lower than Vcc

Higher gate voltage is needed, but Vcc must be lower than Vbias+0.3V.

Therefore, I want to connect VCC pin and Vbias pin by Schottky diode.

Could you tell me whether this way to use cause any problems or not?

I connected the bq4050 with EV2400.But the screen always display the : No acknowledge from device.From the picture below we could see :The BQstudio has detected the bq4050.Why No acknowledge from device ？

In addition to this，I start to log it with 1A discharge current.Then BQstudio gengerate a log.err log like the picture below?why ?

We test the VNN(Vgfx) dynamic VID measurement.

test condition:

Vmax	1.150 V
Vmin	.950 V
Static Icc	0 A
SVID Dn	Slow
SVID Up	Fast
High PS	0
Low PS	2

Voltage change 5us after ALERT to settled is 19mV.

It over spec. 11.3mV.

The change of Dynamic VID is too slow.

So I change Rcomp(R363) from 11K to 13.3K

The Dynamic VID is pass.

Is there any bad influence for this design R363 change to 13.3Kohm?

Please help to confirm.

I am working on bq4050(CEDV gauge) BMS for the last couple of months. I am able to get the required parameters for golden file creation and finally, I Updated the FCC value to the desired value.

I have gone through the steps in this video (https://training.ti.com/bq40z50-setup-and-going-production) for mass production of chips.

I have a few doughts :

1. Golen file used in the mass production can able to update the FCC value or not?

2. If the golden file is not able to Update FCC, then what are other alternatives to update FCC?

note: Our application is not suitable for the field update of the FCC.

3. Do I need to run the qualified discharge for each pack in the mass production also?

In order to run the qualified discharge for each pack, it is really too difficult and time-consuming process.

If possible, provide me with a chip number, that should reduce the all-over headache mentioned above.

Hi teams

My customer CVTE is using TPS65177 to power their TCON board in a new project.

This project has MP and shipped more than 100Kuint in past few months. No failure case reported in the past.

Recently several failure cases are reported from CVTE the phenomenon is: TPS65177 didn't have any output at all.

After they replace the chip with a new one the issue fixed.

I have measured all I/O pins the resistance is normal no short circuit or open circuit are found.

I wonder to know is this device has some kind of latch off protection will lead to this issue?

What should I do to further narrow down the root cause? Thanks in advance.
