BQ24160: BQ24160: about Load from SYS pin

$

Part Number: BQ24160

Hello,community

I asked the following questions and got answers.

Regarding “it will allow current to flow from BAT to SYS in supplement mode as needed”, what is the state when the FET turns on in supplement mode?

question

(1)When charging is complete, turn off the battery FET.
At this time, when the VSYS (REG) voltage rose to VBATREG + 3%, it was read from the data sheet.
Maintain the Not high impedance mode with the IN or USB input connected.
Load from SYS pin.
Since the FET is off, is it supplied to the SYS pin load from the IN or USB input?

anser

Regarding 1, even if battery charging has terminated and the BATFET doesn't allow current to flow from SYS to BAT, it will allow current to flow from BAT to SYS in supplement mode as needed.

Best Regards,

Goto

BQ24650EVM-639: Charging Voltage Adjustment

Part Number: BQ24650EVM-639

Hello,

I am using the BQ24650EVM-639 board to charge a 14.8V Li-Ion Battery from a Solar Panel. The Panel Voltage is around 12V - 13V in cloudy conditions. The battery voltage is at 11.5V. The battery charging starts only when the panel voltage reaches 16V and above. It becomes difficult to charge batteries in cloudy / rainy conditions in this case.

Is there way we can start the battery charging at lower voltages of around 13-14V Panel voltage. Let us know if there are component values which can be adjusted.

Thanks,

Rajesh

BQ25606: Question about where to use BQ25606

Part Number: BQ25606

Hello,

I' have a question for BQ25606.

In my caseThe battery manager needs to charge a battery pack of a mobile device (with a battery pack) which has a dedicated fixed slot for recharging.

I'm wondering if it's better to locate the BQ25606 inside the fixed slot or if in the mobile device itself.

Any suggestion?

Thank you

(Please visit the site to view this file)Hi,

the gole is to implement charge status monitor with the BQ24250

Using the STAT pin we can get charging LED, but I also want a LED to show when the charging is complete (Power connected, and no charge).

For that we thought that since STAT pin is in HIGH-Z during no charge situation we can connect it to a weak pull-up, and then through N-FET, connect to LED.

please advise

(LDO_CH is LDO output [pin F4])

BQ40Z50: CELL BALANCING

Part Number: BQ40Z50

Hello!

I am trying to understand the method of cell balancing at charge state.

on page number 5 of SLUSCB3  there is a scheme of bypass fets which are capable of 10 mA balance current.

my question is how does the controller manage to balance the cells for example if the charging current is 1A but the balance current is only 10 mA (at charging mode balance)?

if the answer is no . is there any design example for adding an external balancing fets or circuit in order to balance the cells?

thank you very much.

Part Number: LMR14006

Dear all,

one of our contract manufacturers delivered a design with a LMR14006XDDC.

We would like to calculate the output drift of the supply voltage over temperature, but the values are not specified in the datasheet.

The same question has been asked in the following post:

e2e.ti.com/.../673215

The answer is not visible in the forum.  Could you please send us the information?

Thank you!

LMR14006: line regulation

Part Number: LMR14006

Dear all,

we are checking a design done by one of our contract manufactures.  It uses a LMR14006XDDC.

The circuit is used in an environment with a large range of input voltages from 12V to 40V.

The output voltage is 3.3V at 100mA.

In the datasheet we found the figure 5 with the line regulation for a different input voltage range and another output voltage.

Do you have a graph for the line regulation at 3.3V / 100mA output with an input voltage from 12V to 40V?

Or at least something similar.

Thank you.

EM1402EVM: BQ76PL455A-Q1 EMB1499

Part Number: EM1402EVM

Hi,

I have a question on the DAC setting of the EMB1499,

From what I understand the EMB1499Q values for VSET range from 1V to 2.2V to indicate 2 to 5 amps of balance current. Is that correct?

That leads to a question about the DAC setting using the EMB_Vset() function. When I use the calculation for setpoint provided in this function which is:

int Setpoint = (int)(Amps/2.5/(3.2/256)) + 5;

The setpoint for the DAC will never result in a value greater than 5 (makes sense if this is the amp setting). After the SetPoint of 5 is programmed and I measure the pin  with a scope, "Vset"  on the EMB1499Q is only a few mV, It is not in the 1V to 2.2V range.

Should the Vset pin show a voltage of ~2V to indicate ~5amps?

Is this calculation of SetPoint correct or should the SetPoint  calculation change to, for example, send a SetPoint of 0x61 which makes the Vset pin show 1.20V

Thanks,

Malcolm

Hello,

I was thinking to use this control chip in an active clamp forward converter. My input is from 70-120V. I was wondering whether it will be suitable for this application or not?

And it would be great if you could tell me what determines the input voltage limit of these types of the controller?

Thank you!

CCS/UCD3138A: Design/Code for integrating secondary DPPs into VSENSE primary DPP

$

Part Number: UCD3138A

Tool/software: Code Composer Studio

This may be a general or very specific question. I've got a board that has all 3 DPP's allocated with a single job of doing AC/DC power conversion and regulating a very wide range of sources to a very fine/maintained output DC voltage.  The hardware design was reviewed by TI originally almost 3 years ago (project got shelved and now needs completed).

I have the code such that I use DPP0 and VSENSE return into AFE0 and calculated REFDAC0 value. Implemented a nice ramp up and down without problem. But in the hardware I have DPP1 with a ISENSE value and DPP2 with a IPK watch line. I'm new to the processor and power supply design, and struggling with what I need to do with these 2 lines. How can I integrate them into the primary control that is being done by DPP0 already??

TPS3808: help finding exact Vhys value

Part Number: TPS3808

Hi,

my customer uses TPS3808G01. They have a question for Vhys

in the datasheet Vhyst is spec as percentage. Is this value referring to the resolution or the absolut value of the hysteresis?

Or in another way asked: if Vit is 0.0405, what is Vhys then? 0.006075 und 0.01215V (max)?

Thank you, kind regards,

Marion

Part Number: TLV758P

Hi,

TLV758P now use in Vin: 3.3V, Vout: 1.2V, but when Vin has voltage ripple, then Vout will drift to 1.9V, measure Vin ripple is about 70mV, my question is:

1. What is TLV758P Vin ripple tolerance? i didn't find it in the datasheet.

2. Why Vin ripple will cause Vout drift? any possible reasons?

Thanks

Tool/software: WEBENCH® Design Tools

We are using LMD18400 in one of our premium products since many years. Of late we are seeing problem in procuring this part and our annual consumption is more than 1000+. Since the product is a proven one, we don't have any scope in changing it at present. We are really stick with our production process and we need an alternate part for the same. Kindly suggest alternate part if the former is obsolete.
