Part Number: TPS2121
Dear Community,
I've been design power multiplexer for my circuit, using TPS2121, IN1 is primary source power by Li-ion battery range from 2.8-4.2V
IN2 is power by 5V auxilary source.
My purpose is when IN1 or IN2 is presented, output will be one. When IN2 is applied while IN1 is still present, the transition from lower to higher is perfect, no problem.
But when IN2 is disconnected while IN1 is still present (transition from higher to lower source), I issue that there is a drop on the output voltage (up to 2V as in Oscilloscope), as it drop to 2V, then back to 2.8V.
This cause my circuit turn off during drop out. As in the datasheet, the TPS2121 is said to be fast switch over between 2 source (up to 5us).
The topology im using is higher voltage operation (VCOMP) and it is said the switch over time tsw = 100us.
But the measure result show 550us switch over time.
In fact, I must say that if the transition between 2 source is not seamless, the drop voltage could cause my device to turn off during this time.
I've add 1 more 100uF 6.3V capacitor on the output of TPS2121 but the result the same.
Is there any recommend or other solution for hot-plugin/plug-out or immediately transition between 2 source multiplexer.
I notice the TPS25942 could be use for hot-swap controller, but the datasheet said it still has switch over time.
I need a solution could help me switch with 0 switch over time, or should i try the fast switch of TPS2121
Thanks.
