TPS92611-Q1: TPS92611 Tail light BCI Test Question

Part Number: TPS92611-Q1

Hello Frank,

Customer BIC test TIS62611 test Fail (350MHz-400MHz @CI: 200mA test band found LED light/dark flashing)
The schematic is below, Layout source I will Email it to you, please help if there are suggestions to improve the countermeasures?

Product specifications:
VIN: 10~16V
Out: 9V/180mA

BCI test conditions (customer factory specifications 200MHz ~ 400MHz is more stringent)

In addition, the customer has found that if the input voltage of the TPS92611 is raised from the low voltage to the VF point of the LED, the LED will flash. This application for the customer is approximately 9.2V.Is this a normal action?

The customer feels that this may be caused by this reason.

Best Regards,

Kami Huang

We have developed an Induction heater (15KW) with IGBT switching technology. Now we are facing a problem of low power factor. In our search, we found about your buck PFC controller. We would like to know whether this controller would improve the power factor of our device. Or is there any other of your products that would be apt for our purpose that you could suggest?

ULN2803A have control inputs. If the COM pin is connected to 50V, what is the high level threshold for control inputs, will it be 25V? The datasheet only shows the threshold when COM pin is  connected to 5V.

UCC28780: PACKAGE SELECTION: SOIC-16 versus WQFN-16

Part Number: UCC28780

I am doing PCB layout for a design using the UCC28780.  The primary side circuitry is identical to the EVAL PCB: UCC28780EVM-002 using GaN.
I would like to use the SOIC-16 package because I think it will be easier for prototyping and troubleshooting, since the pins are exposed, and I don't need special soldering tools to desolder it.
The EVAL PCB uses the WQFN-16 package.  I am nervous about using the SOIC-16 package because it seems that a lot of care went into the EVAL PCB layout (judging from the layout guidelines) and many nodes are critical due to the high switching speeds of the GaN devices.  Will I get into trouble using this package or should I be able to get it to work properly as long as I carefully follow the layout guidelines and good practices.
If you think the SOIC-16 is too risky, I will use the WQFN-16.
Thank you for your advice.

BQ24160EVM-721: be24160

Hi,

I set the power supply as 5V (I_limit 3.75A) and connected to USB input.

I connected Li-Po battery to proper port and set the program as below.

I can see that the 'Charger status' indicate 'Charging from USB'.

I checked the TS pin voltage and it it 2.48V.

But the power supply shows only 7mA!

Battery is not charged whatever I changed the options of program.

7mA is actually used for LED indication. (Power supply shows 0mA if I turn off 'Enable STAT/INT Outputs'.)

What should I do for the charging??

What did I missed?

Please help me to solve the problem.

UCC28630: Safety in event of a secondary short

$

Part Number: UCC28630

Hello,

I have a question about a safety related issue in an offline flyback converter, I plan to use the UCC28630.

I am evaluating cases with a singular component failure that may expose a user to dangerous voltage levels at the output of a flyback converter with 24 V output voltage and wide range mains input. In case the secondary diode fails and shorts, the mains voltage divided by -Np/Ns of the transformer is applied on the output pins of the converter during the conduction phase of the primary FET. I want to make this safe by putting a second diode that has the cathode at the same place as the rectifier diode and the anode at the "bottom" secondary transformer winding. This diode would get forward biased in above mentioned failure case and activate a fuse which is in parallel with the rectifier diode.

Is this a valid approach, or does the UCC28630 already protect the output from such failures? Similar ICs from e.g. ON (FSQ0565) specifically have protections for these cases (in ON's case: Abnormal Over-Current Protection), but I couldn't read from the UCC28630's datasheet if it features something similar.

Thanks and regards

Alex

TPS3840: About startup behavior

Part Number: TPS3840

Hi,

I am FAE, a distributor of TI products.
I received a question about startup behavior from a customer.
The figure above is an excerpt from the data sheet. (TPS3840PL)
The figure below is an EVM excerpt. (TPS3840DL)

My customer's question is whether RESET goes Hi when VDD does not reach VIT + at startup.
At startup, the EVM waveform is RESET high for 62us when VDD is between 1.6V and VIT +.
This indicates that it takes some time for RESET to take effect at startup.
Does the same behavior occur when VDD is between VPOR and 1.6V or less?
Best regards,

How to use MOS instead of diode to prevent reverse current ?

In my application, there are 10 dry accumulators. The connection mode is 5 in series 2 in parallel.

If a terminal voltage is higher, there will be an inverted current.

I want to use two diodes to prevent the current, but as we kown, there will be 0.3-0.7V  wastage in one diodes.

Any one who knows how to use MOS instead of diode to prevent reverse current ?

Hi Team,

My customer consider use LM5021 for SIC.

For that need to provide 15v (Vcc) through external source (even 19v for negative voltage to the SIC).

I didn't found any data about the Vcc limit, please advise.

Thanks,

I am using BSO150N03MDG Mosfet instead of IRF7821.

When we will on the supply due to mosfet power supply is sorted, after off the supply and remove the mosfet from pcb, power supply is not longer shorted.

Also the resistor at the gate mosfet also got damaged.

After removing mosfet at pgood we got 5 and 3.3 volt respectively too.

Part Number: TPS562208

 Hello guys,

One of my customers is designing new power supply circuit using TPS562208 for their new products.

They have the following question about TPS562208. Could you please give me your reply?

Q. Do you have any equation to calculate ESR of output capacitance of TPS562208?

For example, LMR33630 has equation 6 on page 23 of the device datasheet to calculate ESR.

Your reply would be much appreciated.

  Best regards,

 Kazuya.

Part Number: TPS63070

Tool/software: WEBENCH® Design Tools

Hi,

we have a requirement to design a 3.3V @ 1-2A using buck-Boost converter for Input voltage range of 2.5V(3V also fine) to 12V.

i will give background about Input voltage range.

By default, we need 12V to 3.3V @ 2A , But when the Main power lost we need the same regulator to generate 3.3V from 2.5V to 5.4V (battery).

I see one of the choice is TPS63070,

But i couldn't able to design with Webench for this input & Output combination.

May i know what is the reason.

Dear, Sir.

My customer is lokking for the device to protect against the abnormal FB volatge

due to resistor divider open or short.

LM20333 has the undervolage comparator inside on FB path.

Could you please explain the behavior of undervoltage protection if it had certainly.

Is it similar as OVP? Please give your advice.
