BQ25703A: Very Simple Question for BQ25703A

Hi 

We started design with customer .

And we checked BQ25703A data sheet and function detail.

But we have very simple question for data sheet description. 

Could you tell us about these very  simple question ??

1)  About   INOM

      Whats dose mean  INOM  ??   

      We found this Word in data sheet .    

  Please tell me the meaning of this abbreviation.

2)  About  ICRIT:  

       Please tell me the meaning of this abbreviation.

3)   About  Pre Charge Function 

     This device has Pre charge function ,   

       One is  LDO mode Precharge Mode , other one is  ChargeOption1  AUTO_WAKEUP_EN

       Data sheet description is  if this function Enable    Charge Current 128mA and  30min  Charge to Battery . 

      and Automatically normal change above  Min Sysvoltage. 

      My question , if we use both  LDO Precharge Mode and  this AUTO_WAKE_UP ( 128mA Charge /30min )

       If we use both mode ,  what happen  ??  

       For instance  

          AUTO_WAKE_UP mode is High Priority  or    LDO_Mode is High Priority ?? 

      We confuse . which is better for  Battery Precahrge function ?? 

 4)  About  CHRG_INHIBIT  

    We thinking use this Bit control  Battery Charge Enable /  Disable . 

    But we wonder which FET control  ON/OFF by this  CHRG_INHIBIT  ?? 

    *  EVM Schematic   Q4   or   Q7 ??

5)  About  DPM detect   sampling time

     This device has  DPM function .

     We thinking ,this device detect and watch  Voltage / Current  internal. 

    Could you tell us this  DPM sampling time spec ??

Any register or something need to be set to enable SOH?

We already do the 3 cycling for charge(0% to 100%) -discharge(100% to 0%), but 0x21 is still 0x00.

BQ25619EVM: Evaluation Module BQ25619EVM das not work

Evaluation Module BQ25619EVM das not  work.

I have connected to the EV2300: 5V DC, USB and at port 1 the 4 wire cable.
At BQ25619EVM: 4 wire cables from the EV2300 and at J1 5V DC. At J4 a Li-ion battery with 3.7V / 1000mAh
After the connection starts the BM Studio, selected charger, then Charger_1_00-bq25619.bqz. The error is immediate:
All register (REG00 .... REG0C) show 0x00 and the message comes Divice ACK Error.
What am I doing wrong?
Is it necessary to use all multimeters, voltage meters and current meters, connected to the BQ25619EVM?

My customer wants to explore the GaN technology for motor drive application. Regarding to the layout design consideration, customer would like to know if single layer PCB is ok when using the LMG3410Rxxx GaN, or not? RD just would like to know if there is any limitation or design consideration with LMG3410 on single PCB design. (Assume there is no heat problem).

Hi Team,

Would you advise my customer's question that

please inform details of overcurrent protection mechanism?

Because there is a current limit formula of

Equation 23. IDC_LIMIT = (IHS_LIMIT + ILS_LIMIT) / 2

in 7.3.13 Overcurrent and Short-Circuit Protection

in Datasheet, there is no explanation with using block diagram.

Any update should be highly appreciated.

Hi team,

Customer would like to consult the application TPS92641 as below schematic.

There will be three connected LED which is controlled by strobe signal with mosfet and the strobe signal will not been overlapped.

  • Does the structure make sense for you? Would you have any concern about it?
  • Because the Vfb signal is different for different LED, whether there will be a voltage spike since transition?

EMB1499Q: several questions on driver

Hi team,

here are several questions: 

1. in datasheet, there is such timing in charging. Gate_LS and PWM_clamp seems will make corresponding FETs turn on at same time in red area. But for normal ACF, those 2 FETs should not turn on at same time. Please kindly check. 

2. There is a start up circuit which will make soft-start. In datasheet, only a short description that,  the ramp generator charges an internal Cstart capacitor during startup, generating a gradually increasing voltage ramp until the voltage reaches VSET value and is clamped by it.So the turn on time of gate_LS is gradually bigger, how about the other gate signal? If there is a sequence picture, it will be better to make it clear. Thanks.

TPS53513: Tina-TI - What is PG signal and how to analyse load transient?

I want to simulate load transient response of TPS53513 in TINA-TI, so I have downloaded TPS53513 TINA-TI Transient Reference Design.

But I failed to figure out how to setup the load transient simulation and what makes me confusing is the note attached below this example "5.All transients can be applied after the output voltage reaches steady-state and the PG signal has been asserted." It looks quite simple, but how to set these up in TINA-TI in detail?

TPS40210: Can a CONDUCTIVE POLYMER ALUMINUM SOLID ELECTROLYTIC CAPACITORS be used for output capacitor of TPS40210?

 Hello guys,

 One of my customers is considering using TPS40210 for their new products. Also they want to use conductive polymer aluminum solid electrolytic capacitors,  

PCR1K390MCL1GS (Nichicon, 39uF, ESR=35mohm)  as the output capacitor of TPS40210.

 According to their calculation result by equation (46) in datasheet , the output capacitor ESR must be less than 115mohm. So PCR1K390MCL1GS is no problem to use because the capacitor ESR(35mohm) is less than 115mohm.

 Can this CONDUCTIVE POLYMER ALUMINUM SOLID ELECTROLYTIC CAPACITORS be used for output capacitor of TPS40210 with no problem?

 If you find any concern, could you tell me your comment?

Hello,

 

My customer plans to use LP87524B with switching frequency = 10MHz or 20MHz.

Their requirements are as follows.

VIN_B0, VIN_B1, VIN_B2, VIN_B3, VANA = 3.3V

Buck0 = Unused

Buck1 = Unused

Buck2 = 0.9V/2A, ripple voltage <2mV (or <1mV if possible)

Buck3 = 0.9V/2A, ripple voltage <2mV (or <1mV if possible)

 

They do not know how to select proper L value for fsw=10MHz and 20MHz cases.

Could you provide recommended L value for both cases, please?

I am using the TPS1H000 for functional safety applications.I have fault scenario of injecting negative voltage (-60V) at VCC_OUT in my circuit due to miss-wiring and wrong connections. Can the TPS1H000 withstand or survive when the OUT pin voltage is -60V and VS is supplied with 24V?

LP38842-ADJ: Low drop/low Vout Voltage regulator

Hello team,

I am looking for Low drop/ low Vout Voltage regulator with the following requirements:

Vin=1V; Vout =0.815V; Iout=1.35A

Vref about 0.7V and below and Vdrop (max) <  150mV

The LP38842 is the best LDO that I found, But the drop voltage may be more (1V-0.815V=185mV) up to 315mV.

Could you please suggest another device which meets the requirements above.

Customer request external control mechanism on TPS2546, as they do USB A port (power to ground) VIN short test and VIN drop to 4.3v (UVLO), as HP request 4.65v therefore they ask any document could prove TI UVLO spec 3.9V~4.3v meet USB standard ?

Asking for the recommendation on the reset IC recommendation

Hi Team,

Customer is looking the power off reset solution.

 

Would you please recommend the proper solution for this?

 

the customer system design problem is that ch2 and ch3 change from high to low at the same time.

so we are thinking about how to detect Channel 1 level to earlier turn off ch3 signal than Ch2 6ms. do you thin is  that possible if ch1 level less than 10V, then the reset IC can send the low signal to Ch3 and keep always low.

the CH3 high to low need to earlier than Ch2 high to low earlier 6ms.

BQ24072: battery charge controller

Hello There,

I am having a problem that when the battery got disturbed like if I plug out and plug in the battery in fraction of second the battery is charging but LED at CHG pin doesn't blink, on the other hand if I repeat the same process but with the plug out and plug in interval more then previous one LED at CHG pin blinks and battery get charging. What should be the reason behind this?

I have attached the schematic of BQ24072 charge controller.
