I have designed a regulator which provides 12V @ 3A with an input of 12.5V to 24V. When I calculate the values for the minimum ripple configuration using the LM25085 data sheet description (8.2.2.6 R3, C1, C2) or the LM(2)5085 Quick Start spreadsheet I get R3=12.7k, C1=3300pf and C2=0.1uF . This results in terrible Line regulation, with the output varying from 11.7V to 12.7V as the input voltage is changed from 13V to 24V.
When I used WEBENCH it configured those components differently, with R3=29.4k, C1 = 18nF, and C2 = 1.8nF. These values gave much better results with the simulated output varying from 11.96V to 12.14V as the input was varied from 13V to 24V. Is there any application note, spreadsheet or other guideline for selecting these components in the way that WEBENCH chose them, rather than the approach described in the data sheet? It seems that having a small value for C2, rather than an arbitrary large value like 0.1uF, is very important, but I'd like to know how to optimize the values to match my circuit.

There is a TI reference design, PMP20497 made by LM5022. I have a question here. I calculated the current passing throguh photo diode (U2), and got 103.4mA [=(54-1.17-1.24)/499], 1.17V is forward voltage of photo diode of U2, 1.24V is the minimum voltage (Vcathod-anode) of U3.
By multipling CTR (=200%~400%) of U2, then getting the current sourcing from U1 pin 3 is 206.8mA~413.6mA. I checked LM5022 datasheet, the maximum souring capability of LM5022 pin 3 is 1.5mA, according above calculation, actually demanding current (206.8mA~413.6mA) is far above 1.5mA, why? Do I make any misunderstanding?
I am working on interleaved boost converter using UCC28220-Q1. Line and load regulation is as required, but as I increase load, one of the inductor is carrying substantially more current than the other inductor. I checked the corresponding pwm waveforms of controller and gate driver output. Both waveform have equal duty cycle at respective load. Where could be the problem?
My customer uses the LMR16030 as a 12V input, 3.9V/2.6A power supply.
Now he finds when using wound metal inductor(AMRU00060630100MA1) the IC and the inductor will both heat badly, but change to normal wire wound inductor(SLF12575) there will be no thermal issue. The inductor current is tested and they are basically the same. The test waveform is attached below, and the datasheet of both inductor are also attached.
Can you help me analyze the reason why the wound metal inductor can cause the IC thermal issue? The inductor value is the same to 10uH.
Thank you
Normal wire wound inductor current waveform(SLF12575), no thermal issue:
The adapter broke down after working normally for several days.I am having trouble connecting USB-TO-GPIO to PC. The green light on the adapter is off, however, the GUI says adapter not attached. Also, the device manager displays an 'unknown device'.With in a few computers, are all the same problem.Could anyone provide a solution for this issue?Heartfelt thanks!
I ran two lmg5200-2 evm boards in the same environment and one board does not work. It was operated in the same environment and there were no strange symptoms such as smoke or noise, but one board showed the desired output, but one board only took about 1 ~ 2 Volt of voltage but no current flowed and switching was not performed. My suspicion is a bad board, and I want to replace it with another new one.
I AM USING DRIVER IN BUCK MODE WITH INPUT VOLTAGE 24V. IN OUTPUT I AM USING LED ARRAY (3 ROWS WITH EACH ROW HAVING 5 LEDS). AS SOON AS I SWITCHED ON POWER SUPPLY, LED ARRAY ALSO GET 6V WHICH CAUSES IT TO BE IN ON STATE (THOUGH VERY SMALL BRIGHTNESS). AND I HAVE NOT GIVEN ANY SIGNAL TO ENABLE PIN OF THE DRIVER. I AM USING BUCK CIRCUIT GIVEN IN DATA SHEET AS EXAMPLE.ITS MY REQUIREMENT THAT LED ARRAY MUST STAY OFF UNTIL UNLESS ENABLE SIGNAL IS PROVIDE.
ALSO IN BUCK CIRCUIT EXAMPLE L1 IS USED TWICE. IS IT REQUIRED OR IT’S A PRINTING MISTAKE.
I need to read the output of a photodiode through TI Hercules RM57Lx, with the onboard ADC. The photodiode gives a negative voltage, so I have made an inverter circuit using TL072 IC.
The issue is that TL072 IC needs a negative power supply as well. I was using two 9V batteries to provide the +ve and -ve voltages but I need a constant power source. Is LM27762 IC a reliable option?
Calculate magnetic inductance for PSFB. Formula (30) have a (1-D) in UCC28950 datasheet. Formula (30) : Lmag≥(Vin*(1-D))/{(ΔI*0.5/a1)*2*Fsw}
I think that Out inductor current downslope happens during the Toff, when the transformer voltage is 0 volt. The formula should replace (1-D) with (D)?
I designed a new charger PCB for my 6S lipo battery pack. I used BQ24610 as charger. I used the exact same schematic from datasheet. Every component is the same with its suggested ones.
But whenever i hot plug the battery to circuit, BQ24610 and low side MOSFET gets burned in a very awful way. I searched the forum and couple of people also faced with this problem but there is no solution in the forum.
Since this is a battery application, this is a very unsafe circuit to use in project. I had three circuits and all got burned. I could not scope the PH, BTST, REGN and other pins. I am waiting new chips to arrive.
Is this a known issue? How can i fix this problem?
