Hi TI,

BQ27541 There is inquiry about IC.

Is 1-wire communication (HDQ) possible?

If possible, I will also ask if there is something I need to set up separately.

Is it possible to replace the BQ27542-G1 product further?

Hello,

I'm a university student working on a 10-series BMS using the BQ78350-R1 and the BQ769300.

I did some research and looked at other forums to get started with SMBus using an I2C Interface (BLE113).

This is what I have so far, but I can't figure out what is or isn't happening correctly. I have here attached code, examples, and the Logic Analyzer. 

Any help would be appreciated!

Based off of the TI I2C Compatibility Worksheet...

Block Write = SMBus Address // Command // N Bytes (Write) // Data

Block Read = SMBus Address (Write) // Command // Restart // SMBus Address (Read) // N Bytes (Read) // Data

This is my code in IAR to write. The TRUE parameter is simply the repeated start. 
I am attempting to write to the address 0x4466 the value 0x00 then read that value back.

As far as I am aware, the 0x0B is just the 0x16/0x17 write/read shifted for my I2C implementation?

BQ27441EVM-G1A: SOC is unstable

Hi:

My steps:

connect battery

open BatteryManagementStudio

soc = 45 

charging

... wait...

soc = 55

stop charging

remove battery

close BatteryManagementStudio

and then...

connect battery

open BatteryManagementStudio

soc = 65

SOC is unstable.

I did not change any Setting,just use the default setting.

Why? It changes from 55 to 65.

1. CELL TYPE: 3 CELL
2. Phenomenon (Refer to attached document)
-.  After calibrating the voltage, it is calibrated 30 ~ 40mV higher than the reference voltage and the voltage is gradually lowered to the reference voltage.
-. Term Voltage This phenomenon occurs at 9000mV but not at Term Voltage 10000mV.
(We know that 3cell is set to 9000mV.)

BQ40Z50-R1: Cell voltage is reading zero

Hi,

We are using BQ40Z50-R1 in our design, (attached schematic for reference).  while testing we connected it to 3S1p Li-on Battery pack and found that cell-1  have 5512mV readout, cell-2 have 0mV readout , cell-3 5495mV   and Battery Pin voltage have 11069mV readout (attached registers screenshot ). Voltage  measured  across VC1 & GND is 5.51 V ,  VC1 & VC2  is 0 V,  VC3 &VC2 is 5.49 V .  But the voltage measured across the cells  are 3.69V and  across the pack is 11.08V .  

We also observed the the following alerts in bqstudio  (attached screenshot )

Safety status() [COV]=1,

Safety status() [CUV]=1,

Safety status() [CUVV]=1,

Battery Status ()[INIT]=1

Battery Status ()[DSG]=1

Battery Status ()[FD]=1

what could be the reason for 0V readout across VC1 & VC2.   Any help is appreciated .

BQ40Z60: Reported current is wrong & AC Adapter voltage wrong

Dear TI & E2E community.

We have a custom board based 100% off the EVM board (same components used etc.) our board is a 4S4P configuration with 16pcs INR18650-30Q Samsung cells 3000mAh.

We are applying 24VDC from a 100W Meanwell SP100-24 24VDC power supply however the "AC Adapter voltage" is reported in BQStudio 1.3.52 as being 17558mV which doesn't make sense

When we discharge with our electronic DC load set to constant 3A (verified with a Fluke 189 True RMS meter) BqStudio reports about 3.6A discharge which doesn't make much sense either.

I tried running the Calibration command for current calibration by setting our electronic load to 2A (across the +PACK) and typing -2000 in the applied current box and trying to calibrate but it always fails then I tried putting +2000 in which messed it all up so I uploaded the Revision 15 firmware back to the device again in hope that would clear those settings ...

Am I missing something?


BQ40Z50-R1: Charge State Pulsing when Battery Charged

I recently received battery packs and have started charging them on the BQ40Z50-R1 for the first time.  The charging process seems to work as expected, but once charged I see a pulsing into/out of the charging state.  I have an LED on Stat1 and it flashes once every second or so constantly.  Is this normal behavior?  If so, what it it doing, and if not, what are the likely issues causing it?  Thanks!

NOT WORKING

Dear Texas instrument,

I brought this instrument several days ago. I went through all the procedure to start my instrument and it got started but is not responding. 

Instrument details:

EV2300, HPA002

The problem I am facing is that whenever I attach the battery with my PC board all the sections aren't filling. Sections such as standby current, average power and so on. I am not able to test my battery.

Hello Team,

I have a problem with the bq27742-g1 fuel gauge.

As suggested in Forum, to enable bq27742-g1 fuel gauge sort the CELL+ & PACK+ terminals together for a moment, after sorting that both terminals fuel gauge is working fine
but after disconnected a battery from the system BQ27742-G1 fuel gauge is not worked, every time gauge is working after sorting the CELL+ & PACK+ terminals.

What should I do to working it permanently after battery disconnect?

Can BqStudio with EV2300 act like smbus slave?

Can BqStudio with EV2300 act like smbus slave? I work about smart battery system. Smart battery becomes SMBus host in some cases. For example sending AlarmWarning. I could use bqStduio when Smart Battery was SMBus slave. But I couldn't use bqStdudio when Smart Battery was SMBus master. Can I use like master ? What should I do?

BQ27426: Questions about BQ27426 configuration

Hello, 

Using bq27426 and current setting is as below.

Temp Source[01]: External Thermistor 설정.

Subclass ID: 82, Offset: 6 (Design Capacity) 2300mAh

Subclass ID: 82, Offset: 8 (Design Energy) 8800mWh

 

What I want to know is

1.  what means of this equation for Subclass ID: 82, Offset: 0(Qmax Cell 0). Please let me clarify it.

      Qmax (mAh) = Qmax Cell 0 × Design Capacity/2^14

2. Set Design Capacity to  2300mAh, but FullChargeCapacity(0x0e,0x0f) value is 2200.

      Why its value is 2200 not 2300?

3. Is there any other registers which has to be set?

In battery studio management tool->settings-> Gas gauging. What is the difference between set voltage threshold & clear voltage threshold? what is difference between FC, FD & TC, TD?

BQ27441-G1: Program device settings (read and write)

Im working with the freescale K53 tower and the bq27441-G1, Im new with this chip  so I began to program the bq27441-G1 based on a arduino example  from sparkfun, it didnt work for me.

Right now  I can only  read the ID register (0x0001) and the chemical id register (0x0008), but I can't modify the Design Capacity register (0x3C and 0x3D). When I try to read the default Design Capacity, the chip return a senseless value.

1) Is there any explanation for that? 

2)Is there any C lenguage example available to compare with my code?

I have a doubte!

When you communicate with I2C with the integrated, if you haven't programmed any parameters in the BQ34Z100-G1, the values it gets are real? Or can it give totally weird things?

For example the voltage I have is 11V, an the integrated give mi 564....
