TPS50601-SP: Test of the Boot-PH and Error Amp per the spec.

When measuring the source/sink current of the error amplifier through the comp pin do I force 1V into the comp pin then remove it so I can force current into and out of this pin? When I do this the polarity of the current on the comp pin changes which makes since. Is this correct? Do I need to raise and lower the voltage on the sense pin as well? Just concerned about stressing the device.

Thanks for the previous explanation.  I was wondering if the equivalent resistance network would be similar for a TPS736 device?  Again, this is for the calculation of the DC output impedance when EN and VIN are low.  Vout would be low as well in this case.

The top-side of the IC is in the 90 - 110oC range.
- Is this acceptable for the IC to last 5 years of operation in this condition 110oC top side package temperature?
- What would be the expected lifetime loss of the device going from 90 to 110oC top side package temp?

controlling inrush current to toroid transformer ( 12AX7 Audio Pre-Amp)

Hi, all I think I need some help. I am building a Stereo Pre-Amp Consisting of 4x 12AX7 (dual triode) It glows. The problem that I am having is those normal Iron transformers in my requirements and price are basically not available or are VERY pricey. So faced with a brave new world I am using 3 toroidal transformers,

1. Heaters are powered by  one torrid. With dual 12vac output (nice for isolation)

2. HV about 220vac  by two toroids, one for each channel. 

Problem how can I 'soft start' them one at a time as inrush currents are brutal. I know how to work with IOT including MSP-430 LaunchPad. but not sure what I need to do? 

maybe have 430 or Arduino the look at not zero crossing but peak crossing and kick in a relay or is there an easier way?

Hello,

I am looking at what the BQ24650 is looking for to think that it is in float. This way, I can make a test circuit to test the BQ24650 within a circuit design (ie, not need to charge a battery to test). I see by the "Operational Flowchart" on page 21 of the datasheet, it mentions that it will "Turn off charge, enable I_DISCHG for 1 second. What is the value of this I_DISCHG? How can I take advantage of this such that a circuit can be made to trick the BQ24650 has charge a battery?

LM5060: In-rush current

I would like to care for in-rush current when I use LM5060.

LM5060 has Fault delay function using with timer pin.

  1. During delay period, will the device have limit for output current and voltage?
  2. Or is the function only for delay period not to detect fault condition?
  3. If user would like to care for in-rush current, he should add external cap at output as attached file?

TPS2660: 12V, 0.67A latch off not operate

We configured the eFuse circuit using the TPS26600.
We used 12V as input power and set the limit current to 0.67.
Mode is set to Latch Off mode, UVset is 10V, OVset is 30V, Cout is 10uF.
However, if you load a load of 780mA, the LED connected to the FLT will light up and the current will flow only 680mA. Latch off will not work.
If input power is changed to 24V, Latch off normally works.
I want to know what is wrong with my setup.

Dear Sir,

We use BQ25890 in our board for battery charge and its output SYS1 and SYS2 is our main power supply SYS (V3.0). The problem is when we power on, after a few seconds (10 or more seconds), it goes to low and after 500 ms, it goes high again. If we don't connect any load, then it doesn't go to low. We don't know if we need to configure its registers or there is a default function to reset. We pullup CE pin (disable battery charge), but it is no help. Please help.

LM5105: not working in continuous mode with the N channel fets at about 16VDC and above.

We are trying to use the LM5105 to drive two N channel FETS that will control the 50V B+ to the drain of a RF power GAN transistor.

We chose this IC, due to ability to quickly turn on and off our 50V B+ rail.

We would like CW as well as fast pulse control.

We have built the basic circuit shown in the 7.2 functional block diagram of the data sheet.

VDD pin has 12VDC.

The N channel FETS are on a 50VDC rail.

The output between the N channel FETS are loaded with 1K Ohm for testing.

The input pin is manually being switched between open (with the pin internally pulled low), and 5VDC.

What we notice, is that the circuit works fine as long as we keep our 50V rail below about 16V. Above 16V, the circuit fails to work in our CW condition.

1) will this chip perform in a CW condition? (if so what do we need to change?)

2) if not, is there a minimum pulse frequency, width and duty cycle that we need to meet?

3) if this is the wrong part for our application, can you recommend a better product?


Linux/TWL6030: Reading ADC values

I have a Gumstix with a TWL6030 on it, running Linux 4.8.0.  I'm trying to figure out how to read the ADC's on the TWL6030.  I assume this can be done through a file in sysfs, but I don't know where in sysfs.  What files should I be looking for? and what units is the value in?

Hi Team.

I have just design PBC using LM2623(schematich design as picture below), but it is not working now and i can not find the reason.

I have checked on PCB

1.VOUT_BQ = 4.1V

2.When i enable  EN_5V_SW = 3.3V then U18(AP22802AW5-7) is warmup and U17 have not Vout, this mean VCC_5V_SW about 0V

Any one can find and give me solution about this problem

I am examining the circuit using the LM4121 device.
I will attach the circuit diagram I created.
Among them, I would like to ask you some questions.

The Bode diagram is shown in Fig.32 and Fig.33 of the data sheet.
Can you show phase characteristics and gain characteristics with the circuit I created?
There is no WEBENCH for this device.

I am planning to use the attached data products as output capacitors.
Is it possible to use this capacitor?
I care whether the ESR value is correct.

I check TI DEP-0092 reference design and find the CLKIN pin is NG.

But Spec show "Connect to ground if external clock is not used" on page 4.

TPSM84A21: SMT failure issue

Dear Sir,

We used TPSM84A21 to generate 1.0V and 0.85V.

After SMT, one TPSM84A21 which outputs 1.0V  works well, but the other one which outputs 0.85V does not work.

The failure rate is about 3/10 after SMT and it only occurs on that 0.85V IC.

Do you support manaul or requirements for SMT?

Also could you review help us to review our PCB design?
