BQ76940: BQ78350+bq76940+bq76200+12S,fail to set the charge current

I just made a BMS made up of BQ78350+BQ76940+BQ76200+12S.

However, I can not set the charge current.

The bqstudio is listed as below. I have set the charge current to 300mA(for test), however, the charge current is still higher than 1000mA.

What's wrong with me?

TPS2549-Q1: control pin configuration with microcontroller

Hi,

I would like to know if I can use microcontroller to control the CTLx pins instead of hardwire them?

I want to configure this device in such a way that it has the flexiblity to detect the plugging device

For example, when user plug in USB flash drive for playback purpose , the DP_out and DM_out will tell the MCU to set the CTLx to CDP/SDP

whereas when it require to charge with 2.1A, MCU will configure it to DCP and stop transmitting data

Is this device capable to do so?

LM5121: LM5121 Inrush current limit program#2

    Now I use LM5121 for boost input from 10.5V - 14.5V to output 24V  Pout 200W and i set OCP Point by RSENSE Current = 3mohm.

    but i found gate drive dissconnect switch input MOSFET cannot turn off. when converter shut down OCP affect to input voltage bypass to output.
    and i have improved this issue by add Inrush Current Limit Programming #2 (R_Inrush = 10Kohm). I have some question about this circuit as below.      
   

    1. Resistor bias transistor is RSLOPE? (Original i use RSLOPE = 100Kohm connect to GND @ freq 150KHz ).

    2. How to calculate Resistor bias transistor?

BQ25601: Can left PSEL pin float?

Dear Expert

My customer meet some charge problem in low battery mode and need to charge design PSEL from pull high 500mA to pull low 2A when plug in VBUS.

But this project status is near MP stage and can't add pull low resister on PSEL pin.

So, can we left PSEL pin float and let it be 2A mode?

I had test EVM and it seems always 2A when I float PSEL pin.

BQ27421EVM-G1A: FC bit not getting Set even when the battery SOC reaches 100%

Hi,

I'm testing with BQ27421-G1A EVM using my 450mAH Battery. After programming Design Capacity to 450mAh, Design Energy to 1665mWh, Termination Volatge to 3100mV and Taper Rate to 100, charged the battery to Full. Observed that Battery Voltage is 4190mV < VBat < 4200mV & SOC is showing 100% in the Gauge GUI but FC bit is not Set.  I repeated this 1-2 more times with the same battery & with another battery also, FC was never Set. Let me know what is the reason for not setting of FC bit.

Also let me know how gauge knows when the battery is fully charged. Will it decide based on SOC alone or FC bit or both ? 

Also can you help me how I can test the accuracy of the SOC reported by the battery using this BQ27421-G1A EVM ?

24VAC LED driver

I need help in establishing the right part/s /solution to design a 24VAC Buck-Boost LED driver with THD<10, PFC>0.90 and Eff > 85%. Output is an LED array with 20V-25V / 80W and 20V-25V / 150W.

Input -     24VAC / 50Hz

Output -  20V-25V 80W and 20V-25V 150W

Please advise in the matter.

BQ34Z100: the problem about bq34z100-g1 design

As you see pic above ,the gauge it use is BQ3060 on the narrow PCB,but TI official website said BQ3060 is not suitable for new design,now  i want  to  use  bq34z100-g1 to realize my design. The  attached  pdf  is  my design which  used  by  My colleague  ,but he says that  PC can not write anything to bq34z100-g1 through IIC,so Can you help me see what is wrong with the circuit design?  In addition, if I want to configure bq34z100-g1,which parameters should I need to know ?

ISO5852SDWEVM-017: the isolated power rating for gate driver

Hi,

In ISO5852SDWEVM-017, the isolated power for gate driver is generated through SN6505, in SN6505 datasheet, its output drive is only 5V 1A.

So I think the power generated can only be less than 5W?

But the source and sink current in the reference design is 20A? Gate drive voltage could be 12V & -5V.

with 12V, 20A, the power rating is 240W!

I know 240W is not constant power, but how do we know whether the 5W SN6505 can handle 240W transient power consumption?

Sir,

we use TPS65218D0 for supplying power on board. The default power sequencing is LDO1(1.8V)->DCDC3(1.35V)->DCDC4(3.3V)->DCDC1(1.1V)->DCDC2(1.1V) based on register 0x25, 0x23, 0x22, which is same as our test result.

We actly want  power sequencing is DCDC4->LDO1->DCDC3->DCDC1->DCDC2(1.325V), we change the register value from I2C like this: Reg_0X23=0x37, Reg_0x25=0x65,Reg_0x17=0xAF. But it seems no effect.

we surely think the reg value was changed correctly. because we write the value to che Reg, then we read it from I2C, the value was what we have written.

then we test DCDC2 output, but it's still 1.1V.

and after re-power, we found the register value is still default value. Why? How can i change the default output and power sequencing?

for example, changing the DCDC2 output, we write the register like this:

write 0x6A to 0x10, where 0x6A is 0x17 xor with 0x7D

write 0xAF to 0x17

and the chipID register(0x0) is 0x5

Good day Colleagues,

Could you tell me, how to calculate Cff value for low impedance feedback divider? Datasheet examples used for calculations very high resistors (about 500kOhm).

While my customer is using 10k and 2k resistors to get better noise (EMI) stability. Output voltage is 3.6V and output is ceramic capacitor 20uF (load is 20mA).

What is an optimum Cff value for this capacitance and feedback divider?

TPS23754: Bias Voltage Generation and Active Clamp FET Selection

Hi team,

I have two questions relating to the TPS23754.

Firstly, the controller has an extra gate that controls the MOSFET for the damping of the primary winding (active clamp). However, I can’t find anything on the requirements for that MOSFET.

Secondly, to generate the bias voltage (Vc), I see two flavors in the datasheet (see figures below):

  • · One diode
  • · Two diodes and an inductor.

Why are there two variants and what are the rationale for choosing one over the other?

GPC ChemID report has no contents

Hello TI Community!

First of all, I'm new here, and inexperienced with the TI Battery Fuel Guage and the Gauging Parameter Calculator. I submitted a dataset to the Gauging Parameter Calculator, as to find the ChemID of a new cell we are going to use. To do this I followed the steps in slva725a.pdf.

The data I uploaded:

When receiving the GPC report, I get the following files in return:

The file GPC_report.txt only contains the following lines:

0 0 0
Warning: voltage in V detected divider changed to 1 0
Warning: current in A detected divider changed to 1 0

What does this mean? It doesn't give an error, so I think the file formatting is good, but it somehow also doesn't give a matching ChemID. What can be the cause of this 'empty' report
