Part Number:TLV62569A

Hi, currently my customer have request to achieve below solution:

  1. Vin: 4.5-5.5VDC, typical: 5V
  2. Vout: 4.5-5.25VDC, typical: 5V
  3. Need isolation between input and output
  4. Output power: 1W

I have selected TLV62569A this low cost sync Buck convert for Flybuck isolated solution, just similar to PMP6828 this TI design.

Could you pls help give some comments on this feasibility, and to see if any other better device recommendation.

thank you.

Hi Team,

My customer used LM5060 for power safety and schematic diagram of LM5060 includes TVS diode (51V).

They already placed TVS diode on filter.

Do they need extra TVS diode for LM5060

HI we are using below two dc to dc converter in our product, we have fail in radiation testing. can you check attached failure data and see if this can be from these above two regulator.

we have used UL/CE certified SMPS modue to convert AC to DC(15V) , and this DC feed to these two regulator to make 4.5V and 3.3V.

we also have on board third radio module which is also FCC certified.

SCH and Layout can share on request on email.(Please visit the site to view this file)

LMG1020EVM-006: current sensing with GaN

Part Number:LMG1020EVM-006

hi

I am considering to evaluate with combined LMG1020EVM and Laser diode. However we are concerned how to measure the peak current flows GaN.

I read the following document (application note).

http://www.ti.com/lit/ug/tidue52/tidue52.pdf

At P.13-19 on the following application note, it mentioned there are no method to measure the current directly.

(Before checking this application note,we were considering to add the cement resistor into GND line for current sensing.)

On the other hand, there are two method indirectly as mentioned bellow.

1)Create a model to include the parasitic inductance of the components, connections, and PCB traces.

2)Measure the power from the from the light pulses generated by the laser.

Therefore,I have a question. There are no explanation on the application note about the method of 1). How can we measure the current by creating that model?

LP87702-Q1: Questions regarding the LP87702

Part Number:LP87702-Q1

Hello Team,

please find below a few questions regarding the LP87702:

1. Looking at the EVB - PMIC schematic it seems like the boost converter is not in use at all. (No net is attached to the PMIC output)

However, it is fully implemented (all the caps and inductor are placed) ... Why is that?

2. Is it possible to order/config PMIC with different I2C addresses? I would them to share the same bus?

3. I am left with a small confusion, in the PMIC datasheet

did you mean the 1.95V limitation is only for High-Speed Mode (3.4MHz), Otherwise the limitation is 3.6V, I am correct?

4. as shown at the datasheet there are recommended Operational Conditions for SW_BST are 2.8 - 5.5

Later is noted that its input range is 2.8 to 4V (not 5.5V)

Now the Questions:

4A. What is the input range of the boost converter?

4B. In case I don't need it, can it be left floating (input/output) or short it to ground?

Could you please advise the above, thanks in advance.

Best regards,

Shai

Part Number:TPS544C25

Hello All,

I'm using multiple TPS544C25  devices and power sequencing it.

All the 4 units looks good but CH3, 1.2V rails looks that it oscillates for some time before getting to the the final rails.

The sequence is CH2, CH1, CH3, CH4

What would you recommend testing to debug it?

Thanks,

BQ24296: Bq24296 power Manager

Part Number:BQ24296

HI. I use Bq24296 as a voltage Converter from the battery to the system and as a battery charger. The scheme is typical, taken from the Datasheet. There is no register management and configuration(default mode). The system output voltage is 3.2 Volts, although it should be 4.2 V. and a very small current-a few microamps.  The battery is not charged when the voltage is connected to the Vbus input. There is no reaction to the closure of the qon input(pin 12). What could be the problem? How to configure?

LM5010A: Datasheet spec details

Part Number:LM5010A

Team,

My customer is looking for additional details on datasheet specs:

One of the parameters I’m looking at is the UVLO that occurs at 5.25V.  The 5.25V is a typical datasheet value and I’m interested in the range or distribution of this parameter.  There is no minimum boundary defined and I assume the maximum boundary is the 6V minimum input voltage or 6V minimum minus some hysteresis.  Is this something you can help me with?

Also, there is a startup sequence diagram shown in figure #1 of the LM5010A datasheet.  Is there a similar diagram shown for shutdown?  I’m interested in how the hysteresis works around the UVLO when the supply is increasing to power-on and decreasing to power-off.

Thanks

Viktorija

BQ40Z50: Full charge capacity jump

Part Number:BQ40Z50

Hi there,

The BQ50Z50-R2 is used in our smart battery pack. The battery is a 14.8V (nominal voltage), 6Ah, (96Wh) 4S5P Li-Ion.

However we have noticed an odd behavior. When charging the battery, very seldom, the battery does not charge to 16.7V, which is the charge termination voltage set by our charger (see below). The charging is done via a "dumb charger", based on BQ24618RGET. Because of this, the charger keeps trying to charge the battery, instead of displaying that the charging is complete.
Please observe the drop in full charge capacity and remaining capacity. Also we noticed, while using the Battery Management Studio, that the T_ambient was reported as 3.9 deg C. This is also odd because the charging was done at room temperature. (Further the Lifetimes and Protections of the BMS do not indicate any issues.)

Looking forward for your comment!
Best regards,

RT

Part Number:LM3409

Hi,

I'm trying to do short pulses using LM3409HV evaluation board and I'm getting high rise time when I use EN pin PWM (low frequency)

PWM: 5-100ms

Freq: 20-60Hz

Duty cycle: 10-50%

Setup:

Power supply - 36V

7 LED's SFH4780s in series

I also tried using PWM2 and I'm getting results according to spec - there is only a humming sound

Please assist, using EN pin is much easier for my setup

Part Number:LM4041A12

We currently use in our products, parts that have with the following marking :

(National Semi Logo)  47016

           4041A

            IZ1.2

We have several questions:

1.  Are these parts RoHS compliant?

2. For future reference:

What is the meaning of the characters 47016?

How can we use the meaning of the characters 47016, to determine if parts are RoHS compliant or not?

Please advise an answer,  to at least the first question, on Mon 12-3-18, if possible.

UCC28070-Q1: single phase operation at light load / booster application

$

Part Number:UCC28070-Q1

Hi,

two questions about UCC28070-Q1

1- Can you use this device as a boost controller in a dc-dc application? My customer was thinking on using UCC28220-Q1, but then they realized that the need frequency dithering. Because of this, they want to use now UCC28070-Q1 in a DC-DC booster application. Do you see any roadblocks when using the PFC controller in a DC-DC booster application?

2- They use UCC28070-Q1 as dual phase, but at light loads they want the device to switch to 1-phase (disable the other phase). Do you know how to implement this? They think they can lift the current sense pin of one phase (CSB) over the peak current limit (PKLMT). Then, one phase should be deactivated and the other would work normally. Do you think this would work? any other idea?

They need AECQ100 devices.

Jon

TPS40210: 12V@8A SEPIC possible?

$

Part Number:TPS40210

Hi guys,

Do you think, with the gate drive strength of the TPS40210, that you could design an isolated 4V-18V in --> 12V@8A out SEPIC? Do you think the FET would be too beefy?

I know there are lots of other factors, but just wondering if you guys have a general idea. Given that there are so many TPS40210 SEPIC reference designs on TI.com, and none of them come very close to that, it makes me nervous.

Customer has a TPS40210 design that works with different load conditions they were hoping to just tweak.

Thanks,

Brian

TPS40422: temperature sensor layout

Part Number:TPS40422

Hi,

In the datasheet for TPS40422, both the layout recommendations and the schematic notes (pages 24 and 62) suggest to place the temperature sense BJTs close to the Inductor.

What is the reason for choosing the inductor instead of the FETs by instance? - I imagine the answer is that it depends on the design, but I wanted to make sure.

Thank you!

Alberto
