UCC28780EVM-002: Simulation (Spice model of UCC28780 and UCC24612)

Dear Sir

I would like to make a transient simulation of the UCC28780 Active Clamp Flyback 45W AC/DC EVM with GaN FET. I see that only Simplis Model of the UCC28780 and UCC24612 are available.

Could you provide the spice model of the UCC28780 and UCC24612 in order to make a LTSPice Simulation or the only way is to do a simulation using Simplis?

LM5176: LM5176 as current source and Soft-start capacitor select?

Hello,

I would like to use LM5176 in a constant current source, for example CC 10A ps.

If I look on internal Functional Block Diagram is output of crrent sense amplifier compare with internal referne 45mV and comparator dischrge external capacitor on SS input.it can be said,

CC control loop switching controler to Soft start , my question is how to correctly choose the size of the starting capacitor on SS input? For example if switching frequency is set on 230kHz

UCC3818: high frequency oscillations at light loads

I used UCC3818 in a 1KW power supply converter from 230Vac, no full range. At no load, or very small load, the VEAOUT signal is very low, about 0.3V and some pulses are missed, but is normal. The issue is that each pulse oscillates at a high frequency of some MHz, that I found at pin 16 output. I suppose the zero power comparator as a role in this behaviour because there is no hysteresis. Do you agreed and have some ideas to overcome this isssue?

TPS2549: About TPS2549 communication and USB battery charging specification

There is a system that uses TPS 2549 in the project currently in charge.

I verified the designed completed board, but this IC will behave unexpectedly.

The purpose of use and the system configuration diagram of this IC are shown below, so please tell me which part is the problem.

·Purpose

1) This system communicates while charging the Android tablet. However, the tablet side functions as an OTG host device.

2) TPS 2549 complies with BC specification. I also decided that TPS 2549 also corresponds to the ACA (accessory charge adapter) specified in the BC specification.

    It is intended to communicate the tablet as a host device using ACA and let the tablet supply 5 V / 1A of electric power.

· Diagram

1) IN / OUT of the 5V line and current limit were functioning normally.

2) Only CTL 1 and CTL 2 can be switched to HIGH / LOW for CTL control SW.

    Since these are connected by a circuit, only (CTL 1, CTL 2) = (HIGH, HIGH) or (LOW, LOW) can be selected.

3) According to the OTG standard, the ID control SW can select whether to short the USB ID terminal to GND or 124 kΩ to ACA detection mode.

4) DM_OUT and DP_OUT are connected to FT 234 XD of FTDI.

    We are planning to communicate with each other on a device connected downstream of the Android tablet and FT 234 XD.

· Problems and questions

1) The above 4) can not be done. Specifically, when this system is turned on, the voltage regulator is activated and 5 V 1A is supplied to the tablet, but communication is not established.

    Is there a problem with USB detection?

2) Does TPS 2549 support OTG? If so, what is the correct behavior?

3) Because we are developing for the first time using USB, we do not fully understand the USB specification.

    Please tell me the contents of the USB specification if there is a problem.

LM5002: Compensation values

Hi team,

I'm using LM5002 switching IC to create a high voltage DC supply of +240V in association with 1:8 transformer. Input supply voltage to switching IC is +15V and internal switching frequency is ~ 325KHz with RT set to 39K2.

A segment of the schematic is outlined below and I'm looking to obtain:

 

  • Required values for the compensation network formed by C8, C4 and R6 when RT is 39K2 (as per schematic). 

  • Compensation values for switching frequency of 512KHz. Please also include RT value. 

  • Compensation values for switching frequency of 1024KHz. Please also include RT value.

The DS for LM5002 provides the formulae’s for calculation the poles/zeros, but no indication on how to obtain the phase margin.

BQ27545-G1: any risk if SDA short to Battery+ ?

Dear TI Experts,

My customer have a PP project with BQ27545,  there is a SDA test point which is very close to B+, and this may cause short sometimes. They use HDQ to communicate, so they don't care the if I2C will be unable to work. They have shorted SDA and B+ deliberately and implemented many trials, like working high/low temperature , several charging/discharging cycles, quiescent current monitoring, and all other function test, and everything work well so far. Could you kindly give some advices about this case, is it safe to keep the current design? I'll appreciate it if you can share more info about chip's internal circuit about SDA,and give a suggestion if this short will be a potential risk or not. Thanks a lot.

BQ24090: Problem at Current Control with ISET2

Hi,

I am trying to charge my batery with BQ24090. When i set low the ISET2 the charger charges the battery acording to R38(R ISET) but if i set ISET2 high then it goes down too much like 120mA 130mA and it is not stable. Like it is trying to up the current but something does not let it. I dont know why. It should be 500mA right ? What can cause this ? Thank you.

According to internal simplified schematic of iso5451-q1, if reset signal is in low for longer time, the output will be disabled.

Is it possible to use reset pin not only for reset but also for disable?

How to understanding Absolute Maximum Ratings and Recomend Operation Condition of TPS65651 ? the device will work normal as long as the voltage is in the range of value in Absolute Maximum Ratings ?

My SCH as show below ,Vin is Vin_4_2 , If Vin_4_2 connect to 5V power supply, is there any risk ? it seems 5V is in the range of Absolute Maximum Ratings 

LM22676: Short circuit protection

While doing the short circuit test of the circuit built with LM22676, it is observed that the LM22676 IC  gets damaged(short). Circuit used for testing is same as the typical application circuit mentioned in the datasheet. Enable pin is kept floating.  Similar test is also done with IC LM2596, the IC doesnt get damage.

BQ4050: The device does not respond to requests when working through a PC with SMBus

Hello, 

I use a PC that has an appropriate API for working with SMBus. But on the oscilloscope it can be seen that passing the command to the address 0x16 from the board does not receive an ACK answer. Using the programmer EV2400 and Battery Management Studio everything works well, and the data from the device comes. What could be the problem?

Hello all, I'm on a new design involving a TPS61260DRVR - 4V output and Iout Max 100mA. Recommended inductor is LQM2HPN4R7MG0 which is quite big 2.5mm x 2 mm (1mm tall). 

I wanted to reduce inductor's size. My candidates are: DFE201610E-4R7M=P2 and LQM18PN4R7MFRL. Are they suitable for this application?
