TPS61258: Can it support Vin>Vout condition?

Hi expert,

My customer is wondering if TPS61258 could support Vin=Vout when Vin is higher than 4.35V like pass through mode. If yes, how many current rating can it handle when Vin>4.35V? Thanks a lot!!

TPS53819A: EN_UVLO logic level

I am using TPS53819A in my design to generate voltage as below. I generated the schematic using TI Webench. I want to control the EN pin from controller. Controller output is 3.3V CMOS.

Vin: 12VDC

Vout: 0.9V

EN: 3.3V CMOS from Controller

Will the above configuration work?

UCC28740: UCC28740 External OTP circuit

TPS56C215EVM-762: Vout oscillation

We used TPS56C215EVM-762 supplied by 12V Vin and output 5V @ 2.41A max. Switching node is shown using purple. Vout waveform is shown using light blue.

There is no switching node ringing but we still measured oscillation on Vout. 

  

Here is setup for measurement.

Hi admin,

I am using a battery fuel gauge (BQ27542-G1) and battery charger (BQ24295) for my battery charging and monitoring application.

What I am concerning is the different charging current for different kinds of battery, when I use same charging configuration in battery charger chip.

My question is that does the fuel gauge have some kinds of parameter or algorithm to control the limit of charging current for battery? I have checked in data sheet and manual of the gauge but nothing is mentioned.

UCC25630-1EVM-291: Lr, Cr value

UCC256301EVM has 50uH L1 and 0.022uF C8.

I think these are Lr and Cr of the datasheet or Excel Calculator.

When we input design requirements value of datasheet into excel design calculator, excel tool result match with datasheet contents.

However we cannot design with excel tool when 50uH Lr and 0.022uF Cr are used like EVM.

How did you decide EVM components value? Is there any other calculation method?

BQ25700A: USB charger failed with some PC

My product uses BQ25700A
The product is connected to PC for charging. Some PCs do not recognize the device and cause the device to be unable to charge.

I check REG_20

PC Non-Recognition Device :  BQ2570X_REG_20[20]= a000

PC Recognition Device : BQ2570X_REG_20[20]= 2000

Please help to check this problem.

TPS7A47: Turn on time and rise time

Hi,

The device used is TPS7A4700RGWR.

I try to check on the datasheet but could not find clear specification (min/typ/max) on the start up time from EN pin meeting the rising threshold to regulator start output.

In addition, what is the specification (min/typ/max) on the rise time of the output, based on 3.3V output config, output capacitor 47uF + 0.1uF and 1uF at NR pin?

LM5069: why we need to add dv/dt start-up circuit for LM5069, while no such circuit for LM5064

Hi,

Our design used LM5069 to control power amplify OCP issue; the target limit current is 10A or so;

And dv/dt start-up circuit was added for LM5069; but related engineer is not sure why we need this, just said this was recommended by TI;

I recall there was no such circuit for  LM5064 before;

design parameters refer to figure 27 of LM5069 datasheet:

Cin: 1uF, Cout is about 190uF, RPWR: 26.7K, Ctimer: 1nF, Cdv/dt is 22nF; Rsns: 5mohm; Q1: PSMN4R8-100BSE; there is no diode at input or output side; and there is 100K between Vout and OUT pin;

when we test the circuit with 10us width and 100us cycle current brust, which amplitude was from 0A to 5A(which is below OCP limit);

We found out Vgs shall ramp down from 12V to 4V and we can see Vds as 20V;

primary analysis from my side is the discharge current is large than charge current in Cdv/dt; and cause Vgs issue.

So question to TI:

1) why we need circuit as dv/dt start-up, is this necessary? without such circuit, we shall have what kind of performance loss?

2) can we calculate out the charge time(16uA) to balance the related large discharge current?

Hi

I am using the TPS63070 IC in one of my design for output of 8 V and Load current of 2A ,

The design is working fine  but while checking Load (or)  output  current with adjustable Resistive Load till 600mA while turning on Power supply is working fine but after that when I am reducing the resistive load for >600mA before turning ON  , the current is dropping to 150mA approx. after turning ON supply

In case if I am connecting and adjusting/ varying the  load after turning ON power supply then I can measure up to 2A with out any issue  , Can you confirm whether it is the limitation of start-up current? Even in datasheet pg 21 shows the typical start-up current limitation for 8V o/p is around 750mA ,  and I tried by connecting high Value of capacitors at I/p and o/p up to 100uf , however there is no improvement, Can you check and do the needful?

BQ27530EVM: Can't limit the average current flow during charging of battery through BQ27530 EVM

Hi,

Currently i am using BQ27530EVM (which comes with both BQ27530 fuel gauge and BQ24161 charger). As per my current requirement, i need to limit the average current during charging of battery. For evaluation purpose, i am using BQ STUDIO. 

I have limited the programmable charging current using the data flash of fuel gauge. Also based on that, battery charger registers are configured. But still i am not able change or limit the average current during charging of battery.

Is i am missing something or is there another was to limit the average current flow ?
