Hello Ti support,
Helping support an Arrow customer. I am an Apps Enginneer at Arrow Electronics. Customer is asking about the AC FET connections. I saw the post labeled BQ40Z60 FET that states that page 32 of the data sheet is the correct way to connect the AC FET.
So the connections shown in figures 3(pg 23) and 7(pg26) are wrong for the AC FET device? They look correct so that the adaptor voltage is not enabled until AC FET output of the BQ switched on the FET.
Assuming these are incorrect as you said in the other post, and the AC FET is suppose to be flipped over like in figure 9(pg 32) in the data sheet. The reason must be the voltage on the VCC pin is monitored and requires the body diode conduction of the fet to supply to the VCC pin from the adaptor until the AC FET is turned on by the part. I would have thought the monitor would have been on the ACP pin not the VCC pin.
Customer is doing his schematic and layout right know and we need to make sure this is correct.
