I was advised by customer support to post the query here.
We are trying to get a Li-Ion safety system using the BQ76PL536A-Q1 through certification for IEC60730.
The company responsible for the certification insists that the device contains firmware and it has to be evaluated based on the IEC60730.
We are looking for
A. Evidence that the BQ76PL536A-Q1 does not contain firmware.
B. Any functional safety documentation/certificates that the device has.
As this is an add-on system to a current BMS we are not using the device with a host MCU rather as a stand alone protector for OV/UV/OT driving a separate protection loop.
We are aware that device does not contain firmware or an internal MCU but unfortunately certification specialists insist that without details from TI they cannot certify the product.
I'm sure other customers have also tried to certify their batteries, how did they go about doing it?
