Hi Tom,
I have a few questions related to the EVM and our design.
1. What exactly does D2 do? The note on the schematic says to replace it with a 10ohm resistor when using 1S pack. We are using a 2S design but we have left it out for now.
2. Why does S2 connect to 4P as opposed to directly on the BAT pin? Would it be OK to connect it to the BAT pin without the 5.6K resistor? We are trying to save space.
3. How much voltage is needed on the BAT pin for it to turn on the Buck Converter and provide power to a load? The spec sheet says 2.2 to 26V so I assume its 2.2V. Is this correct?
4. How much time is needed to supply voltage to the BAT pin in order for the BQ40 to turn on the buck converter and provide power to the load? From what I found so far, the BQ40 needs around 25ms, but I'm not sure it this is related to some internal circuits, or will it need extra time for the buck converter to stabilize?
I appreciate your time in answering these questions.
