I would like to use a battery fuel gauge (p/n:BQ27510-G3) to monitor the state of discharge of my battery pack, but I am using two primary batteries in parallel (TL-5930 from Tadiran, battery chemistry is Li-SOCl2).
First, I don't see LiSOCl2 chemistry listed, so I assume I have to run bqEASY and the ChemID tool.
However, this routine requires that I charge the pack, but I can't charge because I am using primary cells.
My questions:
1) Is there a recommended profile for Li-SOCl2 chemistry that may be "good enough" to monitor the battery life for my application?
2) Is there a recommended way to manipulate the bqEASY routine so that I can skip the charge portions and create a golden .DFI file for my pack?
I have tried researching the forum for similar posts (see links), but none of them directly address how I might be able to use the BQ27510 to monitor a primary LiSOCl2 battery. I have read that the p/n I have chosen was not designed for primary batteries, but I am willing to try anyways.
