Hi,
we have a discussion here whether the bq34z100-G1 (or i guess any gas gauge) should be always connected to the lead acid battery or if it could be disconnected when the device is switched off.
I could not find a clear statement regarding this yet. I always thought it is necessary for the IT algorithm to always watch the battery.
But is it really necessary when there is no charge/discharge because the device is completely switched off?
How is it meant to be used and what happens if it is not used this way?
