Just a minor comment related to SLUA436 about how to protect the AFE inputs. Figs 2 and 3 are trying to explain how a diode-resistor combination could degrade the current reading. Fig. 3 superimposes a load line supposedly corresponding to the series resistor R1, without considering the left current scale is actually logarithmic. If we consider this fact, the schottky diode approach in most cases could effectively be a mean to protect the die from being direct biased during a current inrush in the load, without degrading the current reading performance at nominal loads.
