UCC28780: Simplis Model Decryption Failed

Hello, I would like to simulate the UCC28780 using the Simplis model provided.  When trying to run the model, I receive the following error:  "Decryption failed: Unable to decrypt the data."  I'm using the demo version of SIMPLIS.  If there is an issue with the demo version of Simplis, are there plans to provide this model for a different simulation tool?  Thanks in advance for your help!

Hello Team,

I'm working with a customer that is looking for a fuel gauge for their 2S1P L92 (LiFeS2) battery pack (3.0V), and I wanted to understand if the BQ35100 is our best option for them to consider. 

Upon reading the datasheet, it notes that the BQ35100 can support the following: 

  • Supports lithium thionyl chloride (Li-SOCl2 ) and lithium manganese dioxide (Li-MnO2 ) chemistry batteries
  • Accurate voltage, temperature, current, and coulomb counter measurements that report battery health and service life
  • State-of-health (SOH) algorithm for Li-MnO2
  • End-of-service (EOS algorithm for Li-SOCl2 )
  • Coulomb accumulation (ACC) algorithm for all battery types

In my customers application, they are looking for a reliable state-of-charge for their 2S1P battery pack, and from the last bullet it appears as though they should be able to achieve that through the Coulomb counting algorithm.

LM2623EV: lm2623ev/nopb demo board

I have looked at two of the lm2623ev/nopb demo board. I hooked power to first  board's  inputs and turned on the supply. The power supply folded. My first thought was did blow it up? I ohmed the red lead (vin) to the black lead (gnd)  zero ohms. I got a second board. Before powering it I put the ohm meter across the two pins. Zero ohms again. This is a new board just out of the bag. Can someone test a board there and tell what ti should ohm? The board should be simple, put power in on one side and get power out the other side.

Dear Ti Expert,

We are working on a DC/DC converter circuit based on TPS62050DGS (refer to schematic below). The input to the converter is 4VDC , while the output is designed to deliver 1.8V@800mA. With a load connected to the converter output, which draws about 400mA at 1.8V, we noticed the ripple at output is >=150mA. We would like to reduce the output ripple voltage as much as possible, would you please help revise our schematic and offer us some suggestion? Thank you. Peter

LM25011: High duty and no load start up

Our customer using case is Vin=34V, Vout=26V, Iout=0.6A, Fsw=500kHz.

When Vout start up at no load condition, Vin voltage becomes flat several period by inrush current(probably) and high duty operation is done because Vout rise up.

In this time, BST capacitor charge is not maintained and LM25011 cannot normal switching. So Vout doesn't rise up to setting voltage.

This is removed by setting longer soft start time. 

And it is described on datasheet about decreasing FB resistor value to provide minimum 1mA load.

Is there possibility that LM25011 or external components are damaged when LM25011 continue operation with the condition that there is no enough charge on BST capacitor?

Do you have any idea about solution other than soft start time or min load current?

Is there soft start capacitor min value and max value?

Can LM25011 keep sufficient BST capacitor voltage for normal switching under any conditions if there is min 1mA load?

TPS61256: Any requirements for EN pin rise time ?

Hi,

I'm considering to delay the PWRGD signal from TPS54218 for about 1ms by employing an RC circuit.

Then the delayed PWRGD is connected to EN pin of TPS61256 to delay its start-up time.

My concern is that if the RC circuit makes slow rise time on EN pin of TPS61256 and cause any problem like failure.

Is there any requirements for EN pin rise time ? or does this circuit cause any other problem ?

I saw the suggested cap and resister value on layout guide, for cap value should I 100% follow the suggested value of cap? or i can place a little bigger cap value for better noise immunity?

for example:

VIN = +5V, but the boost input = +12V,   you know, the common voltage of ISNS+/- is +12V,  do you think TPS43061 can work well?

TPS22960: ON pin

Hi team,

The application power path is CR2032(3V battery) --> TPS22960(there is another button switch between CR2032 and TPS22960 ON pin) --> MCU

Due to the mechanical design, need a part max height< 0.7mm and no ball lead package. I didn't find any single channel part meet the requirement and just the TPS22960 meet the requirement. We connect Vin together, VOUT together, ON together and used as single channel.

It's with battery power system, total current should be very very small for longer life time.

In datasheet, ON pin cannot let floating, we will let ON pin with a pull down resister and connect to MCU GPIO.

We would like to know ON pin pull down resister can be 3Mohm for very small power dissipation?

Or do you have any recommend single channel part meet the requirement?

LM5020: RC filter in application circuit in datasheet

Hello,

In the application circuit in datasheet page 9, RC filter (R1 and C4) is connected to VCC pin.

Is this purpose to reduce noise or surge from switching of T1? Or just wanted to remove noise from power supply?

Please let us know what purpose to put R1.
