Using LM3489 as a basic lead acid battery float charger.
Specs required:
+V_MAIN is 13.6V-13.8V
Max 300mA constant current limit to charge battery.
13.6V battery float voltage.
Battery automatically supplies system if main input power fails, max 2A required for system.
Low power dissipation.
Low dropout.
Question:
When the main power input fails, current will initially flow through the P-FET body diode and supply the system. In this state will the LM3489 turn in the P-FET? Based on the datasheet I think it will. This is good for me as it gives a low drop out connection from the battery to the system.
Can I have a secondary system, in parallel to the LM3489, pull the P-FET gate low? Or what is the best way to force the LM3489 to turn on the P-FET, e.g. pull the FB pin low.

Hi,
I have an 18V input supply and a 4S Li-Ion pack discharged around 14.5V.
There is a bias circuit to turn on charge when power is supplied, but ACDRV* only goes up to 12.6 V and will not bias the reverse battery protection MOSFET, BSZ086P03NS3, on.
This happens on about 30% of 150 units we have made.
Note: these devices were handsoldered in a controlled environment. Would over-heating cause this semi-repeatable issue?

How much current expected to supply for the PVDD and VDD ?
PVDD Pin4: Supply voltage for gate drivers. This pin should be bypassed to PGND.
VDD Pin3: Supply voltage for internal circuitry. This pin should be bypassed directly to pin 2.

We used UCC28070 on traditional boost PFC. It's found that the input current became unstable while the input voltage is higher than 250Vac. That is not related to loading as we changed loading from light load to full load, it is there always. attached waveform channel1 is input voltage, channel2 is input current. Please advise. Thanks.

Hi Team,
I received an inquiry from one of my customers with regards to the BQ34Z100PWR-G1. Would it be possible to use this for two separate Rsense? This is for BBU application and they wanted to know if they can use this part for separate Rsense for the charger and discharger. They need to ensure that charger and discharger should not turn on at the same time. Hence, they have separate R-sense for each, so that once there is current passing thru the Discharger R-sense, then charger will be turned off.

Our customer has a question regarding Timing Specifications between our AM335x Sitara and corresponding TI PMIC (TPS65217). See the below graphic which contains timing info per our specifications for most parameters, EXCEPT for that listed for T2 and T3:
Can we offer a Timing Spec like we do for some of the other parameters (T1 T4 etc) such as 50msec < T < 1 Sec) for instance?
Also, please confirm that the nmi_int register location is indeed : 9C0h as defined in AM335x TRM.

We are using BQ24780S EVM for charging the battery. We are charging the battery at 2A current. When The battery Reaches to maximum Voltage the Current Gets suddenly drops to 1A from 2A and it Stays at 1A constant current mode until it switches to voltage mode. Then the battery reaches its maximum charge voltage. Suggest some ideas of why the battery charge current changes from 2A to 1A and enables charging the battery at 1A.

I am working on project where I need to do AC to AC conversion, requirement is mentioned below.
Input supply: 110VAC 50Hz frequency
Output Requirement: 230VAC 60Hz frequency/ Output load current 10A
I can see two option for this as mentioned below.
1. Cycloconverter
2. DC link converter (AC to DC and DC to AC)
I am confused which topology is better considering the output waveform performance and harmonics. As cycloconverter need less power stages, so size benefit is there in cycloconverter.
Could you help me to get figure out the best topology for above application requirement?
Also, Do we have parts suggested from TI for this kind of application?

We are developing our own platform where the BQ34110 is one of the components. During start-up we want to read out several parameters from the BQ34110, but it seems like it has a very long start-up time before it responds on I2C. It takes around 280 ms from power on until it answers with an acknowledge when being addressed. We are sending with a frequency of 100kHz. So I'm wondering if:
1. Are we seeing an unusual long start-up time or is this normal?
2. Is the start-up time defined, so that we know how long we need to wait before we know that the BQ34110 is up and running and can respond on I2C? Or is the start-up time defined within a known interval?

I have a question regarding the BQ78350-R1. If configured all LED outputs they are limited to 3mA output current, expect the LED5 output that provides 20mA.
Could this be an issue in the firmware, or is this behavior a hardware issue?
