UCC28950: PCB issue

Part Number:UCC28950

Hi,

It is written in the schematics that Disconnect the anode of D25 from the ground and connect it to the anode of D18.

But the thing is that in the CAD file the connection of A-D18 is not there.

So which one I have to follow, the actual available connection in PCB cad file or the one you have mentioned as a note?

What is the importance of this A-D18 connection in a precharge circuit?

What will happen when CT pin is floating?
Does it(CT pin floating) output RESET even if MR is NOT reset?

Is this also valid for TPS543B20?

TLV733P: thermal resistance

Hi,

I am planning to use TLV73333PDBVT LDO. As per datasheet Rth JA is 228 c/w. It is also mentioned junction to board thermal resistance is 55.8 c/w. I would like to know what is the preferred copper area i have to provide as my FR4 8 layer board is 1mm thick, in order to get this junction to board thermal resistance of 55.8 c/w. My input is 5V, load is 3.3v, 80mA. Just want to make sure case temperature rise to limit within 15 to 20C.

TPS3705: Use an external switch to control watchdog function

From TPS3705 datasheet it says: Leaving WDI unconnected disables the watchdog. Can I use a SPDT switch to control the watchdog function? 

If I want to disable the watchdog, I control the SPDT and leave it float.

TL2844B: Current Mode PWM Controller

I am using TL2844B as a PWM controller IC for flyback design. What is the purpose of having under voltage lockout section in the IC?

Also some current mode controller IC like - FA13844N have two under voltage lockout section. Kindly enlighten me on the same.

If possible also tell me the part number which will be the exact replacement of FA13844N.

BQ76PL455A-Q1: VP pin and question about daisy chain

Hello,

I have some question about design for this BQ76PL455A-Q1 IC.

1. VP pin:this pin is for internal regulator(A/D), can I use this pin to another IC that the supply current is about 10 mA ?

2. In Daisy Chain structure, VIO pin should connected to the VDD pin which is belong to the MCU.

    Is this design for the transmission of TX、RX、WAKEUP、FAULTN signal ? If yes, can I use an isolation IC to transport these four signals, and leave the VIO pin and VDD pin be separated?

3. The use of our product is cell monitor in Automotive, so we should design like the Figure.34 in the spec., how to choose the value of common mode filter、isolation capacitor、resistance ?

By the way, I want to know is there any practical applications on Daisy Chain for Automotive battery monitor about this BQ76PL455A-Q1 IC?

BQ78350-R1: ESD Test : BMS goes into shutdown

Hi all,

First of all, I'm very thankful that you have such good support.

We have a battery pack (bq76930+bq78350+10s6p) that has been tested for ESD.
The battery pack did not pass because a short power glitch on PACK +/- switch off the complete system somehow.

After a few ESD shots, the battery was always completely off, as in shutdown. After that I thought that the battery was doing "Voltage Based Shutdown" the "Shutdown Voltage" value was set to 0.The battery was passed with this settings.

I suspect that a partial reset can occur because the lifetime data will not be updated with new data. (Not as in normal shutdown.)
The battery starts normally with "Voltage at TS1 pin> VBOOT".

Our system is designed as here described  "Avoiding ESD and EMI Problems in bq20zxx Battery Pack Electronics "


The question is if that happens what I think and why "Shutdown Voltage = 0" can help. Shutdown Time = 10sec.

BQ24296: power bank design

sorry, some qustions about charger design:

our application is kind of a power bank using BQ24296

USB only charge for one cell 18650, and 18650 only discharge to system when connected through pogo pin

1. do i need additional MCU or other part for this design?

2. can i leave SW and SYS pin floating?

3. how can i design four LEDs to indicate the battery percentage?

TPS1H000-Q1: reverse protection for TPS1H000-Q1

BQ34Z100-G1: failure

hi,

We have a project based on bq78350-R1 as controller and  bq34z100-g1 fuel-gauge.

Currently we program them via a software developed by a 3rd part, but we have suspicion it doesn't work well... 

We have about 30 units (out of a first batch of 1500), on which one of this IC's are somehow crashed or are in locked state.

We tried to reset Power Supply on them and "force" program via BQstudio, but it didn't help.

I tested BQ-HI-Production [http://www.ti.com/tool/BQ-HI-PRODUCTION], but it was impossible to run 2 versions of this program (for bq78350-R1 and bq34z100-g1) on the same station simultaneously, so this is not an optimal solution for production line.

Can you please advice us some solution for programming bq34z100-g1 and bq78350-R1 on same workstation?

how can we do that?

UC2825: Reason for temperature increase

One customer is evaluating UC2895, but IC temperature is increase about 70℃(Ta: 20℃ ⇒90℃).

Please let me know about two points below;

①How to calculate IC's power dissipation  

②Idea for decrease temperature (= IC's power dissipation)

 Are Vin or fsw decrease, good effect?

UC2895 condition and information are below;

・Vin: 24V, fsw: 100kHz, Duty: 50% (Push-Pull)

・FET: 2SK3608-01S (Datasheet is attached)

・Transformer: custom

・Any protection function are not detect

・High temperature is only UC2825.

 Board, FET, and the other components are not high temperature.
