BQ24610: Typical Application circuit doesn't works

Part Number:BQ24610

Hi TI Support team,

Please help me,

I am on testing BQ24610 chip with Typical Application circuit.,
There is just small modification, I just remove the BATDRV FET and SYSTEM Line, because I just want use this IC just for charging battery.

I am configure the circuit using "bqstroller calculation tools_V1.5"

I short TTC to Ground to disable it.

I want to verify these :
1. Typical Application circuit is for AC input or DC input ? I bit confuse because of the name ACDRV , ACP, ACN , etc. currently I test with 19VDC input supply

2. I wont use Thermistor, so with Voltage divider I set TS pin about 1.6V, is it okay ?

3. I wont use BATDRV, so I am not put BATFET circuit, is it okay ?

I think I already meet all requirements to enter charging cycle, but 2 STATs LED always turn OFF.

TPS54240: Eco-mode of TPS54240

Part Number:TPS54240

Hi

I have a question about Eco-mode of TPS54240.
There are the following text in " 7.3.3 Pulse Skip Eco-Mode" of datasheet.
According to that's text, TPS54240 is written synchronaization with the external clock at Eco-mode.
Is that's text correct?

For Eco-Mode operation, the TPS54240 senses peak current, not average or load current,
so the load current where the device enters Eco-Mode is dependent on the output inductor value.
For example, the circuit in Figure 49 enters Eco-Mode at about 5 mA of output current.
When the load current is low and the output voltage is within regulation, the device enters a sleep mode and draws only 138-μA input quiescent current.
The internal PLL remains operating when in sleep mode. When operating at light load currents in the pulse skip mode,
the switching transitions occur synchronously with the external clock signal.

Best regards,
Yokota

TPS7A25: TPS7A25

Part Number:TPS7A25

Hi

I want to use TPS7A25 for one of my design.

My application requirement is for adjustable voltage output.( Vout = 4V).

I am refering datasheet : SBVS372A –DECEMBER 2018–REVISED MARCH 2019

My question is :

While refering Section 6.5 Electrical Characteristics, which mentions :

specified at TJ = –40°C to + 125°C, VIN = VOUT(nom) + 0.5 V or VIN = 2.4 V (whichever is greater), FB tied to OUT

>> As per my understanding [ VIN = VOUT(nom) + 0.5 V ] this will be applicable to only FIXED OUTPUT type design.

     am I correct?

>> As per the formula for adjustable Vout,

     VOUT = VFB × (1 + R1 / R2)

In this formula Vout is not at all dependent on Vin.

    So do I have to bother about [ VIN = VOUT(nom) + 0.5 V ] condition.

>> For Vout = 4V using adjustable output type configuration, is it possible to provide any VIN within specified VIN range i.e. 2.4V (min) to 18V (max)?

Thanks for reading.

I can't find the definition of LP5900SD and LP5900SDX, what's the difference of SD or SDX for this part? Is just packing quantity different? SD with packing 1000each and SDX with package 4500each per reel?where I can find this definition document?

Thanks for your feedback

BQ78350-R1: Discharge FET disconneting

Part Number:BQ78350-R1

Hello,

I have a 5s1p Li-ion Battery pack and I'm using BQ76930 AFE + BQ78350-R1 companion, with a high side FET driver. After setting up all of the parameters and doing some learning cycles, the protection circuit seems to be disabling the discharge FET for currents over 3.4A, despite there being no protection definition, or any definition for that current threshold (Protection for overcurrent in discharge is set for 10A).

When the discharge FET is disabled, no protection flag is raised, in fact nothing changes except for the DSG bit in Operation Status A (Not even XDSG bit changes). I can't figure out where this seemingly arbitrary discharge current threshold is coming from. When I cut off the load, the DSG FET recovers after a few seconds.

Here's a snapshot when discharging 3 amps:

And when I raise to 3.5 amps. The only bit that has changed is DSG in Operation Status A.

Is there anything I could've overlooked that affects the DSG FET? Any insight would be appreciated.

LM76003: Minimum On-Time

Part Number:LM76003

Hi

My customer has question.

Figure 30 shows the efficiency graph for fsw = 2000kHz.
In the case of VIN = 48, Vout = 5 V @ FPWM,2200 kHz, I think that Minimum On-Time (max = 95 ns) can not be satisfied.
However, although a graph of efficiency is shown, is this possible?
At this time,LM76003 is lowering the frequency?

TPS23750EVM-108: How to get hold of the eval board mentioned in SLUA469

Part Number:TPS23750EVM-108

In SLUA469 it is discussed how to fight down conducted emissions by adding a CM choke (Pulse PE-53913NL). However, the referred eval board (TPS23750EVM-108) does not look the same as the one discussed in SLUA469. I do not see any CM choke L2 used. Where to by an eval board that is mentioned in SLUA469?

BQ24610: Design gets hot too quickly

Part Number:BQ24610

Hello,

I'm posting on behalf of a customer we're supporting at the CSC. We need help reviewing and improving the design and layout. Below is his question:

==

I was wondering if I can have a private check of my design we had issues with the previous iterations with having the charging system running in a warm environment (e.g 30 degrees Celsius),

The first one was only able to handle it for a short period and the charger completely failed, but this we identified due to the board rework we did to the mosfets which caused them to get hot too quickly.

Next version we found that the copper ground provided to the BQ24610 thermal PAD was too small causing charging to fail after a few minutes.

I hope if you would be able to look at the new design, I reviewed the power point Wang Li provided and carefully reviewed the PCB layout recommendation on the datasheet, but I would hope to get a TI engineers expert opinion.

We have other TI parts which is the LMZM33606RLX, which we also would like opinions if the layout is good this time, this would be very helpful as then we don't make any more mistakes.

Please let me know soon as possible as we need to progress to prototyping again this board soon.

==

We'll send the design files through private message.

Hello,

I would like to be informed about the circumstances that are needed in order a successful learning cycle to be achieved (MaxError = 100% --> MaxError = 2%).

Is there any document that describes this process ?
